Hi, I've seen previous post saying the new replacement Headlight (Dimmer/Flasher) Relay does not work. Note that I said (Dimmer/Flasher). Research showed they do work, they just need to be retrofitted when used in a US/Canada vehicle. Hope it helps.

The replacement headlight dimmer relay 111 941 583 available for the 1968-79 Bus. Is a Euro specification relay.
In addition to switching between Low & High Beams. The relay also allows you to Flash the low beams when the headlight switch is in the off position. By lifting up on the dimmer switch.

Note: terminal #30 on the original relay is a locating lug and has no wires going to it and is connected to nothing on the inside of the relay.

RETROFIT 111 941 583
To retrofit the replacement 111 941 583 relay, you need to provide power to Terminal #30 for the Flash function.
This can be achieved by making the following pigtail wire connector.
601LR - 16-14AWG Open Barrel - Female - w/Locking Tab
Red 6" piece of 14 gauge wire
811LR - 16-14AWG Open Barrel - Female - Piggyback

Disconnect the battery ground.
Remove the fasteners securing the fuse box.
Push the open barrel terminal with the locking tab into the socket on the back of the fuse box that #30 locates in.
Connect the other end of the wire to constant power. (one of the fuse box terminals that has power all of the time with the key off)
Plug relay in
Remount the fuse box.
Reconnect battery ground.
Pull up on the turn signal stock and flash away.

OR
Just jump #56 to #30. Headlight Dimmer will switch between Low to High beam. But you will not be able to flash headlights.
