So the point of this thread is to get karma by giving things away that you don't need. Generally van related or connected.
*****************
(Moderator edit)
Here's how this thread works:
1) Post a list of parts you would like to give away for free (or for cost of shipping).
2) If you want any of the listed parts, send the "seller" a PM (private message).
3) Once you've parted-it-forward, please edit your post with GONE! at the top; if you have multiple items, place a GONE!=> in front of the part(s) you've karma'd. If it's too late to edit your post, please PM a moderator and s/he will do it for you.
Please keep pointless banter out of this thread.
Thread purged: Nov. 3, 2012
******************
Karma idea:
*You may NOT receive an item and then sell it. Use it, give it back, or karma it again. Don't be that guy.
**You may NOT request any items. Either it comes up or it doesn't.
***Post your location; first come, first served.
GONE!
I have a 1986 stock chrome w/ black rubber rear bumper. Great condition. Includes end caps (one slightly busted). Sitting in the back yard with nothing to do. Who wants it?
I'm in Marina del Rey, CA. Come get it or parts train it somewhere. _________________ 1986 Westy - Billie Jean

Rear shift rod from a 1984 van (the "early" one). Just the rod, all the other bits have been cannibalized, but it's in good shape and not bent

I have a complete westy pop top. Both sections, good condition. The tent is still attached to the rear part and is in good condition. All of the hardware is with it as well. I'm in Toronto. Anyone interested? _________________ March 2013 HIGH top availability: Flagstaff 2, Toronto 1, PNW 0, Colorado 0, Virginia 0

I've got an ECM and engine wiring harness for an aircooled.
I don't know anything about the condition of the ECM but the harness is in great shape with no cut or spliced wires.
"volkswagen" and "vanagon L" badges for the rear hatch
some cabinet doors w/woodgrain finish (both rear closet doors & the overhead door -- don't have door for fridge cabinet), maybe a little T molding, stove vent cover thingy and maybe the bracket for the front table, the one that bolts to the corner of the drivers seat pedastal.
I'm in Denver, PM me if you need anything. Better yet, ask me on here so this topic keeps getting bumped to the top. Maybe someday it'll get turned into a sticky.
Or, about the last week of Sept I'm gonna head up to Vancouver BC so maybe could meet you somewhere, who knows. _________________ 1984 Westy 2 Dubya D

I'd love to have a spare ECM and wiring harness
For freebies, I'll offer up:
Dometic parts fridge (missing switches on the top right and the fridge door)
'81 tin top rolling shell (someone cut it behind the C pillar to make a half-assed doka attempt or something)... it's stripped, but has all the undercarriage stuff still. I'm content to keep it and putz with it (read: slowly part it out) since I have space, but if someone wants to do something productive with it, it's yours _________________ 1980 Full Camper, been in the family since it was brand new! |

First - thanks to Chimivee for the Clarion CD head unit. Now I do not need my tape deck.
I expect that this is an item that will only be of interest to someone who wants an typical original equipment unit. It's a Philips that came in my 84 Westy. The original owner took delivery in West Germany (back when there were 2 of them) under the program where you drove the van for the summer then VW federalized it and shipped it to the States.
It works fine, just that I (like the rest of the world) no longer need a cassette player.

We have the original steel bumpers from an '83 Westy. Nice condition. Don't need them, as we just put on pipe bumpers from Van Cafe.
If you want the old bumpers, they're yours. _________________ 83' Westy "Van Helsing"

Here's something for you Midwest folks!
I have a complete/running Dometic fridge out of my '87 Westy. I never used it, so I'm relying on the PO's word that it runs just fine. I don't want to go to the trouble to list it and ship it, especially since I'm unsure of the condition, so I will be glad to give it to someone via local pickup. Ice cube trays, manuals and all of the various shelves, etc. included!
Cheers,

| I am in Seattle and have brown interior panels from a westy that are in good shape(only have some of them), Rear vanagon glass(the defrost ground wire has broken but the glass is fine), and vanagon grill from a 1989 and the lower radiator grill that are in great shape. Someone use these parts. |

I have up for grabs a circa 87/88 factory deck still in box. Was a refurbished item from VW that I have no idea why I purchased it. Prefer pick up but if you have nothing and need something to keep you awake on those long drives....message me.
Have a beat up power mirror that might be usable for parts,no glass. Will look later to see what side it is. _________________ Bill M

I've got a rear fiberglass bumper (from an '88)up for grabs. It's not perfect but it's not total junk either. It has a few cracks but nothing a little time with a grinder and some resin wouldn't fix. I figured i'd post it up here before I put it to the curb. I'd prefer local pickup...... _________________ '83.5 Vanagon GL
