I understand. I need to get this White Baja done and get the Thing top frame back together. Going to Circle Yer Wagens in 3 weeks, then the Bridge Day cruise and fall Fast Times at Farmington all in October. Will be a busy month and I had better be ready.

I'm not on here much due to working alot and my crappy internet service out here in the country. I'm planning on CYW and possible the Cincy show in a few weeks.

The club idea is great and I'd be interested, but cannot make any promises to be involved in many events.

Keep up the good work Joe and get the ball rolling!!

We will post up a schedule of VW events and any local event we plan to attend and If you can make it, would love to have your rides parked with us John. You are welcome to cruise along with us when we road trip it to a show like Cincinnati or Columbus.

I will be going to CYW but will be in Owensville KY drag racing for the Cincinnati Show.

Joe, I know of a few local shows coming up. There will be a show at Riverside High School Saturday October first. Proceeds from the show go to Secret Santa. I've attended this show several times in the past and have actually been complimented for my VW, a strange thing at predominantly domestic car shows. It's a decent little show for a good cause. I plan on attending once again this year.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for the info. I've found the best way to keep up with local shows is to use this link:
http://www.tristatestreetrods.com/Shows%20and%20cruise-in%27s%202009.htm

They have just about all the local shows listed.

Thats cool Keith! Thanks.

Looks like a nice evening tomorrow for a cruise in at Mayberry's. Lets kick this club off with a great nameing session

I am getting exicted for the cruise on Bridge Day and this cool evening has me thinking about getting the gas heater fired up in the Thing, burn the rats nest out of it (hope not) and create some heat in it.

Hey I'm thinking about welding my bus heater boxes back together and putting them on the 2007 engine. I'm going to try to get it ready for the cruise to Bridge Day.

That would be a cool cruise with the DD Panel! Those Porsche brakes would eat up the curvy mountian roads. The pimp seats hold'n the butt in place and the 2007 snacking on Mustangs. Fun trip indeed!

Looks like a nice cool evening to have a get together. I will be there in my topless, fairweather Thing and planning on having a burger at Mayberry's with a Cherry Coke.

That was a chilly ride from Huntington with the top down. Wasn't too bad with the top up and the gas heater cranked for the ride home. It was a nice show and it was great to meet you all. See you next time!

Hated that I couldn't attend. Sounds like everything went well. I like the chosen name and I hope that the logo goes right along with it. I look forward to being able to do things as a group rather than just one or two of us. I think we got started on the right foot and I believe this club will be around for awhile. I look forward to meeting everyone whom I have yet to meet.

The biggest thing that sucked about it was I forgot to take photos of the cars and people.

I also think it was kind of funny to see the V8'ers wondering WTH happened to a usually all American car event. Another cool thing was the VW owners who were just passing by, saw us in the show from route 60 and turned around to come see us. I got their info to have them in the club too.

Great first meeting, thanks to all that came! I will make a spread sheet and email to all of our new members so we each have contact information. I will change this thread title to our new name and just keep this thread going further.

Thanks for coming!

Joe, if possible, can I get some of the numbers and names you got last night? I'd like to round up a few people to go to the wave pool show tomorrow.

Swing by Zac and I will make a copy of the sign in sheets for you. I wasn't planning on setting up the spread sheet to email out until tomorrow.

No problem. I'd just like to gather some people for that show tomorrow. I'd also like to meet a few of the people I have yet to meet.
