Some very minor work today. I ended up doing some other things!

I bought a pair of nerf bars from a buddy, ended up spending most of the day with him. All these guys need are a quick polish (surface rust) and a coat of primer and black paint! 50$ for both.

Also, thought that it would look 10 times color if the Deestones had a raised white letter so I decided to paint the letters in on them. They match the other tires now! Wink

Other than that, the "catfish" got a bath..

Adjusted camber. Didn't have to weld in tabs or anything. Used a chisel and hammer and bent them back the best I possibly could. I got them adjusted as far as the control arms go out so when the weight of the vehicle is on them the camber should be perfect... I hope Wink

Got the front end done today! Everything is aligned the best I could make it. Put in my new tierod assembly, got the sway bar up, camber adjusted, and toe adjusted. Now I just need to take the car to my dads shop so I can weld in bumper brackets and fabricate a cross member for the sway bar, and a skid plate to protect the frame head from anything. Once that is all secure, I'd like to POR15 the framehead, and get an alignment. And of course install my wheels Smile Speaking of wheels, Just took them to the metal finishing shop today to get powdercoated a gloss white Cool

More pictures will be up soon! And I was thinking the black POR15, but the grey would look cool too. I dont know what the other colors look like. I think black would look the best on the pans when I get to that point though. Smile

IMO, i like the grey. the silver is cool, just looks like paint on ducttape.
i dont like the black because, well its black. its dark. and it makes it harder to find any problems such as leaks. Grey or silver brightens things up, plus, you can see immediately where there is a problem. just my thoughts.

where's the updates, and pictures? Rolling Eyes Laughing

if you spray on, make sure that whatever your not painting is seriously masked off and when you are done spraying, be sure to clean the gun immediately afterwards. acetone and lacquer thinner will clean it off, when its still a liquid. when its dried up, its trash.

With the little time I had to work on the bug today, I fixed my steering column. The anti rattle bushing down inside was shattered into a million little pieces. I cleaned it up, inserted the new one, Re assembled it, and no more free play in the steering wheel. Sweet Cool

Ok this is the only picture I have for today because It's homecoming week and I am very busy.. but I did manage to weld on some more tabs onto my cage. I decided to go with this design now because I like how the lights will flow into a V shape. Just need to add the other reverse light, drill/tap holes for the license plate and light, primer it, and paint it black! Then wire it up of course. Thinking of soldering on wire connectors and running the harness in the cage. We'll see what happens when it gets to that point though. Very Happy
