I love the lip on those wheels, I hope they fit after you get tires on them.

Congrats pOrk! You've got a great looking Beetle. I'd say ship it as well. Do us Original nuts and the engineers that spent endless hours engineering such a magnificent machine a favor, leave it original! Smile

Painted the wheels a silver metallic base, 2 sizes of HOK flake, and kandy tangerine over the top. Undecided which center caps I like better, the VW ones or the Porsche ones. Any opinions?

I'm with bagged59, for sure.

But I also agree with Rich...

Bright rims, white bug... they kinda clash man.

Find a color that will offest the rims and it could change the whole look.

Maybe something simple like black would look somewhat decent... Think

I tried black first, the lip of the wheels looked small and they blended in with the centers. It looked good, but not what I was looking for. The orange is bright and against white it would clash, but the car is beige. I am not the best at taking photos, looks better in person I think.

I need to find some decent looking lug nuts, stud the rear drums so they match the front, and maybe paint the drums since the porsche centers don't cover the entire center of the wheel. What color do I paint drums? They are black now and blend in with the centers, maybe just repaint them so they are glossy like the wheel centers so it blends in better, I dunno.

Heres a photo when wheels were black:

ohhhhhhhh

that might be an option, the paint on the car is recent but the guy that did it ( previous owner ) didn't know what he was doing and you can see scratches from sanding the car under the paint. Rolling Eyes

A black car with those tangerine rims would look fantastic, but its probably a bit easier to find a better color for the wheels than repainting the car...

How about painting the wheels silver or a gunmetal so they don't blend into the tire like when they were black?

Anyone have suggestions for rear shocks? I am running Barn door bus shocks in the front and they are perfect, but haven't found a good match for the rear yet.

You have a picture of how you did the front? Plenty of bags in the rear pics, but don't see many of the front.

Very clean, can't wait to get my bagged

VW's are cars. Cars are not meant to leak oil. So if your VW leaks I think you should fix it. Be like me and have no leaks
