Ok if you want to help this old man again (77) I have a 1971 7 passenger bus that have 205/70R14 tires on it that the P.O. had install just before he left from Calif. to NJ . They are called "Euro Metric" The spare is a Dunlap
P195/75R14. QUESTION would I be ok leaving the 205's in the rear and changing the fronts to 185R /14C
All of the above 205's only have less than 4000 miles on them.
Any answers will be very helpful.

this question would be better suited for the tires thread below this one., and i see no problem with that as long as the tires on the same beam are the same size, fronts match and rears match. but not front to rear and front to rear.

I had a 1973 orange bus with standard hardtop but jalousy windows on middle bays, fold down bench/bed in rear, and folddown table on side. Is this a "halfcamper"? No plumbing or electrical or LP. Very basic but extremely functional for daily commutes and weekend camping. Is this a "weekender"? What are the camper sub-types called? Thanks.
P.S. I know the Eurovan has a model called the MV with this configuration. What does MV stand for?

| I am fairly new at VW buses, I have a 71 bus with a dual port 1600 and the original one bbl carb. I would like to switch to something that will give me a little more balls without killing me in mpg and the wallet. What suggestions has anyone got. Thanks. |

save the intake manifold as they are a one year only hard to find item.and get new dual intakes with a vacuum tube on them(need this for vac assisted brakes). upgrade to dual pict 34's carbs. it will get you a lot more power but not kill the mpg's you could always upgrade to 40's or 44's later but i find the dual 34's are fine on my 1600dp. also think about your exhaust it's another cheap item that can boost your power output...well at least use the hp's you have better.....

Or try dual Weber 34 ICTs, You can get a deal on used ones. Good mpg also.
