Ok i had to add to this forum
for those of you that don't know me from the off road forum I'm a mechanical engineer an am currently working on using HHO as an additive to increase fuel economy.
I have all ready did testing on water vapor injection
on a 1600
great results increase in power up hills
im currently working on a water vapor /hho injection added to a carborator
water expands 1800 times when it flashes to steam. that is why your car runs so nice on a cold foggy morning.
my goal is to use the hho to help flash the water vapor to steam.
you will still use gas to start the car and run on a very lean mix.
with all this you don't need mas quantity's of hho
it is to hard to run a car only on hho
for fun there is a movie documentary on the gas company called gashole watch it its on hulu or youtub.
the automotive X price $10 million if you can create a car to do 100mpg |

And I thought it was because the cool air molecules were densly packed together allowing more oxygen molecules per cubic inch of charge, silly me And why does an engine make less power on a warm humid day?, same water present in the charge then _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Wow another browns gas debate? I can only add this fact, the gas I emit when farting has a higher btu count than anything that comes from the row of jars one if you jebs have duct taped to your dub. When this craze hit back in 2006 my engineering chemistry class reviewed it and summarily dismissed it. The gas produced simply cannot run a car not will it increase mileage.....it does lighten pockets. _________________ One day as a lion, or a lifetime as lamb

I had a teacher in high school that had several(I think 6) hho generators in a V6 Cadillac Catera and was able to improve the mileage from 20mpg to 28mpg. He altered the O2 sensors and injectors to achieve this, but the car started to go through alternators and batteries and eventually the car threw a rod randomly(at school of all places). I think that the strain from the hhos is what wrecked havoc on the charging system and leaning out the mixture too far led to the engine going bad. |

Leaning out the mixture will Save gas no doubt. _________________

Spaz,
Only you would reach back to 1867 for such an obscure reference dealing with the control of atom flow within gas phase. Brown gas ... definitive proof of the value of underhood physics in proving the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Bravo ... point conceded. _________________ Get ready for the injection

Name calling is the surest way to concede debate. If it weren't true, I wouldn't post it. my engineering chemistry class spent @ 2 weeks working with this set up and our proffessor bought a $250.00 ebay kit just to fully test the hypothesis. Using the 12v battery for water electrolysis yielded barely enough gas hold a flame.
How do I know flatulence yields a higher btu count? Because I counter hypothesized just that and proved it true. Got an excellent grade on it too.
I have proven my flatus to be a more valid energy source than this snake oil money pit. The only thing these gas generators have done for the owners is lighten their pockets.
This is a dead horse so beat until your hearts content. _________________ One day as a lion, or a lifetime as lamb

Chazz ... I'm firmly in your court on this issue. My use of the nickname "Spaz" (short for Spezialist ) goes back many years (not quite back to 1867) and is in no way meant to take a personal shot at Rodney, nor is Rodney's post meant to cast anyone here in a bad light. The snake oil business will thrive ... irrespective of any truth revealed here. My comments were not directed toward you. Carry on. _________________ Get ready for the injection

When it comes to HHO, I'm still waiting. Not that I don't believe it is a useless endeaver. I just think that using the wasted heat is the only way to be churning out the gas.
But, one question I have relating to water mist injection (high humidity, etc.) and the 1800 degree flashing it to steam........... at what point in the Compression Cycle does it flash into steam? If it flashes to steam anytime significately before TDC, it will be counter productive! _________________ '84 Vanagon Tin-top, ALH TDI. 1989 Tin-top
