My motor isn't assembled yet but I made a degree wheel that bolts to the case to degree my cam. There is a mark on the fan that aligns with the split in the case when number 1 is at tdc.

Looks good, any secret fortifications hiding in that engine to give it the balls to push that 6 rib? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Secret fortifications? Lol. No. Not yet. I have had that transaxle since 1991. When I aquired the bus, it was lacking the entire powertrain. I figured if I was going to pick one, I might want to get the strongest trans I can for future endeavors... I have a set of 34 ICTs that are going on as soon as I buy the CSP linkage for them. I just bought the S/P manis from CB and I'm hoping this gives me a little more 'oomph'. |

If you're wondering why there isn't any rear tin on the engine? It's because I bought new tin that hasn't got ANY holes and I'm gearing up to install the heatriser cutouts.

Looks good; in the spirit of stock why not get a stock oil bath air cleaner to go with that baby?
And I'm no expert, but what Busdaddy was getting at is that many say a 6-rib tranny has to high of gearing for a T1 powerplant... maybe instead of an oil bath some dual carbs are in order...
And what dizzy is that? It's so short! (no offense intended!)
Also - is that a single port engine? The center intake manifold section looks like a dual port type but the ends look to be singleport... _________________ '71 Westy

Thank you! Indeed it IS a singleport. Yes, that IS a D/P center with S/P end-castings. It allows me tu use my 34 pict 3/4 if I choose to. Which I won't because I'm putting ICT's on it as soon as I can afford the CSP inkage...
As far as the 091 goes? My engine loves it. So do I, especially on the freeway!
I just bought the S/P manis from CB Performance. The dizzy is a VW 205T.

Cool; I'd never seen single port end castings.

Huh; I'm out of town right now so I'm without a Bentley but I thought all Bus trannys had the same 4th gear? Or is the final drive ratio different? _________________ '71 Westy
