I just bought a quart of delstar and the shop guy gave me delthane urethane hardener, does this contain the isocyanates which require a full mask? I chose delstar because it is an acrylic enamel and I can therefore use my filter mask. What hardener do I need to be safe? Also does anybody have the link for the Delstar information sheets at PPG |

If you have or can get an air supplied system thats better, but if not then you need a good charcoal paint mask. Be sure to use eye and body protection so the icos don't get into your body. _________________ 2-67

http://www.ppg.com/cr-refinish/phase1/frmHome.asp
is the PPG refinish site.
Basically, all hardener has those nasty ISOs. If you want hardener, you have to take precautions. For limited spraying, a charcoal filter mask will likely be OK, just be sure to use freshly opened cartridges. Also, be sure you use a full face mask or have good eye protection. ISOs can enter the body through moist tissue like your eyeballs. |
