| Thanks for the kind words. I broke in the cam today. It fired instantly has good oil pressure. I drove it around the block, first time it has moved under it's own power in 20 years. |

It's always good to torque the engine mounts. My first time putting in the freshly built engine I broke the stud off flush to the bar, the lower one. This was the last bolt of the install. |

there's alot of things the previous owner has done to her, i changed the oil awhile back cause when we went to buy the bus, he said it mostly sat around for a year. i've been meaning to move the fuel filter from behind the distributor, and change it. any help on my engines status as it looks or what may look wrong? |

That fuel filter is a nightmare. A lot of threads here and on 914world lately about some tragic losses. The weight of it jiggling around as you drive. The clamps look like the good kind, but that is the worst possible place for it to be. Put it under the gas tank, as close as it can be secured to something.
I had a banjo (inlet fitting on a Dell'orto carb) come loose in mine and short out the electronic fuel pump. No fire, but high voltage on the distributor would ignite it. A whole lot of fuel comes out even at 3 psi.
I don't know much about upright engines, but I like your "M157506: stamping and valve sticker. |
