All right, all right, I'll play. I am an old retired fart having served a sentence of 33 years with the Canadian federal government. Now I do things I really enjoy and don't get paid a red cent for, funny thing is, it is way more satisfying.
If I'm not exploring the highways and byways of Nova Scotia in our Westy (aka Gooda Frau), I work for the Chester Municipal Heritage Society building museum displays, lugging furniture, painting, repairing things, smoking cheap cigars, swilling Keith’s beer etc. My greatest passion is local history and especially the treasure hunt at Oak Island. Watch this space for more about Oak Island and our new display, click on Explore Oak Island Display (a work in progress).

Wow! I want to come see! I've only been to the southern edge of Maine. I'd love to visit Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, etc. All those places are on my list. My TDI '84 Vanagon conversion will be perfect for the trip! _________________ 1983 Vanagon, Air-cooled Gasoline, driven to Alaska 7 times.

My family hails from NS and NB. I have seen it 10 dozen different ways, but only once (to Cocagne NB family farm) in one of my Westys. I used to do it twice yearly on a Harley, but have not done it in 4 years. I yearn to do it again, its a fantastic spot for a Westy of any sort.
HIGHLY recommend it to anyone contemplating the trip.

Might as well throw my hat in. I'm a guitarmaker. I've never felt comfortable referring to myself as a luthier. It always seemed too high brow, like I had a bidet or something. I've played guitar for 40+ years, Berklee dropout, former union journeyman cabinetmaker (bench carpenter). Organized and ran a guitar festival which I sold. There's more, but.....
Nice to meet you volks.

I'm a Control Room Operator for a major oil & Gas company, in the Rocky Mountains......
Previously : 20 years of industrial adventure in the Gulf Of Mexico as a rigger, crane operator, operator of natural gas platforms and all around tough guy. Four of those years I commuted 4400 miles per month to and from the Gulf of Mexico (on a 7/7 schedule) in Vanagons . Two years in an 84 1.9 and two in a Sunroof Syncro....Breakdowns? One (failed Syncro tranny.)
In my college years I was a singing waiter, casino worker, then a studio camera operator for the evening news. Later, after becoming a TV Reporter, I quit that job, sold everything, purchased a 71 Dormobile and moved to the beaches of Mexico.

I'm a SAP Security Developer (computer security I tell everyone) for a fortune 100 electric utility. The rest of the folks in our IT department don't understand why I'd even drive such a vehicle. Let them keep wondering. _________________ Dave

Currently living life at 9,500 feet above the sea as the owner of a ski/bike shop. Just wish it would snow some more! Can't complain to much tho as business is still very solid.
Previous lives:
-- Alaskan guide of sport fishing, rafting, bearviewing, natural history tours and even a winter caretaker of a fishing lodge (8 months in the bush of AK with only a dog and three cats for company. The solitude was amazing!)
-- All kinds of construction work.
-- World traveler
-- My degree - Wooden Boat Building and Restoration. _________________ “May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.” - Edward Abbey
