| Hello Mr. Chadd, I am deeply upset with his situation, sorry! I have a question for you: It was not you who chose this profession? Unless you have been obliged to follow this profession; (someone pulled a knife in his throat) I do not think this is the case, I would be penalized for you. Friend you have chosen then you should know their obligations as seller and not grieve for their charges. In all that you mentioned in your answer above, it makes you more than your duty! I doubt if I was living in the United States, which would do what you did to me. Because you know you do not run the risk that I take satisfaction personally go with you. You did not act right and still be doing dead waiting for me to forget the situation and let my money back, because the least you should do is let your client well informed and show a little interest. I would buy more parts with you, but I will not and never will point out a buyer to do so, only if I am going crazy! Do you like to give customer service until you receive your money and then the unfortunate turn only one illustrious stranger. You say you answer emails, do not know where, only if the new buyers who do not know of his schemes. I see where your customers are well served last land you have not lost your mind yet, I guess! I would like to understand why other vendors can make things happen and you do not! Does this have something with character? Mr. Chadd Well, I'm still waiting for my merchandise, that Mr. insists that the mail was a mistake, and I now by the events with me and other buyers I doubt very much that has been posted. Maybe a package full of newspaper! No longer dare to say that the U.S. Postal Service is so incompetent. Do you have something to suggest or give me back the money going? The goods will come back to you, is not it true?? |
Just my two cents on the deal. If you notice there are a lot of advertisers here as well as members including myself that under no circumstances ship out of there country. I have had almost every instance that I did so bite me. I sent a set of semaphores with several other items totalling a thousand dollars to a South American country only to have UPS contact me to say that the buyer refused to pay the duty tax and that I had to pay to have it returned and or pay the tax. Then I had the money taken back from me from the credit card company becuase it was a scam. So I that point I was out the money and the product and 200 dollars worth of shipping.
This was just one instance. Seems to me like most of the negative feedback comes from overseas transcations that Chadd does. This is not a requirement for him to conduct business with overseas transcations just something he sees necessary to keep those cars going. Anyone that has met Chadd knows that he is doing for the love of the cars not for his love of money. Yes it is his living but if he were in it to get rich he would definitely have chosen a different profession. I know what I have said does not fix anyones situation but may explain some of the frustration everyone has for overseas transactions. Some go perfect but most in my experience have not. _________________ "white trash but worth every cent"

Ok friend, but from the moment a person begins to trade, he should think of all the duties and obligations that this brings. They range from the obligation to serve well, to post the parts in the mail safely and efficiently. If the intention of trading was just a joke, a hobby, it's time to stop, because any time it could end badly, after all, there are laws! Taking money from others and not give justification to the problem of not receiving the goods, that's dishonesty. Advertise a complete steering column and then want to share just send it, it is also dishonest. Mr. Chadd tried several times by phone and sent several messages, I didn’t have answer . Blame in the mail and then didn’t reclaim , see what happened, is lack of attention to the client. Mistakes happen, but we must correct them and watch so they do not make it happen. When the business is treated well by both parties, everything goes right. Recalling that have bought from other sellers of the forum and nothing went wrong, we start from the idea that the parties are honest! In my case, the least an honest seller should give assistance to the buyer and it did’t happen and I see that other people too. It's been more than six months that I paid, the goods do not come, gone astray, Mr. Chadd takes no action and I'm waiting for the car part that will never come. and then I ask, what do I do with a seller like that? For the love of my old car I ever hurt someone else who likes old cars and it is by character and not by taste. I think it was more just give me back the money, after all the merchandise will be returned to the sender as he says! Do not want any more business with Mr. Chadd and warn against any foreign buyer to do so because it will be hurt. Too bad I'm so far from the United States! I was injured. |

On Dec 6th I asked ratlook vw if it was possible to get a fiberglass Bus go cart body (he advertises here on the Samba) delivered by Christmas. He instantly responded with:
jason, I can ship one right out to you. they are built and ready to go. cost to WA should be around $100 with greyhound. you will pay the freight on your end, it is never a lot of money, gpx is very fair for the size of the packages.....should only take 5-10 business days to reach your local station. I am ready now, if you are. paypal.com and pay to [email protected] please add 4% for fees. take care, my direct cell is 863 (removed for privacy) thanks, chadd
The next day before I had a chance to respond he sent another email:
jason. are you ready for a bus body? I will need to get it on its way to get it there for xmas!! let me know, thanks chadd
I paid him that day (Dec 7th) via paypal including the extra 4% total $624
I didn't hear anything from him so after a few days I emailed asking if it had been sent, no response. I waited a week or so, still nothing. I e-mailed again asking if he received payment (I know he had) and making sure it had been shipped. No response. i tried the personal cel phone he provided me, never answers and mail box always full.
A couple days before Christmas when there was no longer any chance of it arriving by Christmas I filed a claim with paypal. about a week later he responded to PayPal and provided them a greyhound express shipment #. Today I spoke to someone from Greyhound who looked up the number. He didn't ship it until Dec 28th!!
I still don't have it and have never heard anything from Chadd since I sent him the money.

Jason, first off I am very sorry we could not pull off getting the body to you in time for xmas. for that I would like to offer you $50 towards your shipping cost to WA from GA. I packed the bus very good, had to drive all over town to find a box large enough for the 30 X 30 X 5 foot body. as I said in my message, an email was missed causing the delay on the body being shipped. I drove 8 hours to handle it myself each way, and got the body on its way to you as soon as I could make it happen. you should have the body by now, I know it takes longer when a package is soooooooo large, has to do with the amount of space they have in the bus as it is making its cross country voyage to you in Washington state. hope you have a great 2012 and enjoy the body! really appreciate your purchase and again very sorry it did not make it by dec 25th as we discussed prior! chadd

Hi Chadd
I dont suppose any of those packages are the channels and boot floor that I had Greyhounded to you last May, and that you said you would send over to the UK in a bus you were sending "in the next couple of months" !?!?!
Please please get in touch and give me an update. I appreciate you're doing me a favour sending them, but I am paying for that favour, and it has now been 7 months. My restoration is at a halt at Trailer Queen Restos whilst we wait for those parts.

| Chad helped me with some wheels for my '66 bug. He replied to me very quick and delivered as promised. He even delivered the wheels to me in Florida on Christmas Day at no additional charge. I would not hesitate to do business with him again. |

Have to publicly thank Chadd for the L-code handles/locks he offered up last week, and that he was willing to break up the set. I'm a happy camper as all my locks will be one key (after rekeying the new cargo door handle ).
Transaction was at a good price, and quickly shipped. Definitely worth keeping an eye on his sales if you're looking for those hard to find things.

Update. Shortly after writing my first post about my transaction with Chadd. Paypal found in my favor and recovered all of the money i had sent him ($624), I was amazed by this since by then he had provided a shipment number to them.
Right after that he responded by e-mail, phone and here on the Samba.
I didn't answer for a few days (I was annoyed and wanted to leave him hanging like he did me) but eventually I did answer and had a nice talk with him on the phone. He was extremely apologetic and offered to pay the shipping cost if I still wanted the bus body.
The Bus body finally showed up at my local Greyhound yesterday. It was extremely well packed and the shipping was amazingly cheap for such a huge box just like Chadd had said. The Bus go-kart body is fantastically detailed and I'm glad we worked it out and finished the deal. I have mailed him a check and wanted to let others know that he came through in the end.
