The transaxle was the original one from the truck so it was 12V, It's an early 1967.

Yeah and hopefully you have some bus sized tires laying around to go back on there. Stock height with lowered tires looks funny. lol.

Close to the lip? The tires are a bit short as they went with the lowered running gear. I'm due for a new set.

Is that the front end from a jeep or Willys upside down behind of the gas tank, acting as a firewall?

Here are a few more items required for my Raise-er-Rection.
(Bolt on IRS to stock.)

Rear End.
New flexible brake lines and all metal hard lines from the Tee back, 8 springplate bolts, brake line bracket that attaches to the spring plate, and rubber brake line grommets.

Front End.
New outer tie rod ends.

I needed the tie rod ends because the dropped spindles had the "big" taper. Stock bus is the small taper.

The rear end had all IRS brake parts and they weren't compatible with the stock reduction box setup so another parts order was required. Evil or Very Mad

Due to all the unexpected setbacks, BBB is off the table this year. Sad

I sold my og 67 out of my bus to Greg and Clara a few years back when they were down in FL. I kick myself for that every month or two.

really? theyre like 25".
Missing about 2 inches there. Look like tiny hotwheel tires.
Id say 215/75 14" would be good. Smile
Of course id always say proper bias plys would be my #1 choice, but either way 27 inch is around the minimum std size for most buses, and of course i always think they look better with around 28 inch tires.
If those tires fit with it dropped, they are WAY smaller than stock.

215/75/14 26.69"
185R14 25.65"

The type2.com library says the 7.00x14 tire had a diameter of 26.22", +/- .24"

The tires that were on were about 24.25" diameter. The new ones are 26".

Got the front spindles on after I rounded up the correct tie rod ends.

Here's doubleugly with the new look.

They are Nexen 185R14 D/8 SV820 load rating of 1874 lbs.
I got them for $400 installed here locally, that's a repeat customer price.

As a tribute to all those maintaining the stock height of your VW Bus, Van, Camper, SC or DC I custom made the following sweatshirt:

I may be too old, or maybe too young, but I don't have any idea what that means. I'm guessing it's a euphemism for the horizontal boogaloo?

Interpret it any way you want. The message is still the same.
