This is my "build" thread. I can't really do the resto my car needs at this point, but I want to drive her none the less. So, I am going to clean her up and patch what I can to save her life and make her a good useable car again.

at her new home. she is all original 1969 except for the respray of red and the hood. hood poped up on me and tore at the hinges bending the hinges.

I will have better pics as I progress. this is basically going to be a refresh. the small rust I have I am welding up, but the pass floor pan is in poor shape and needs protection and reinforcing so fiberglass it is. Later I plan to do a proper body off restoral with pan replacement, but this will give her a few more years.

I got lucky and the fuel did not gel after 7 years of sitting. the tranny does not feel so lucky though. I will pull it and the driver front fender tonight.

love the seats, look exactly like the ones in my 70fasty, so im guessing they are an og seat. plans for motor? running same color? im guessing all floor pans go bad in these things, though my 69 hasnt yet, my 70 is trashed, po put a chunk of wood in to hold the battery in! Shocked

Im running the motor i built a while ago. Just a cammed up high compression 1600. The color is going to stay red with cal window rubber and black and chrome accents. She is getting early turns and shaving the over riders on the bumper. I already fixed the battery tray, but with bad door and window seals the water got in... No wood for me. I can lay glass and have it just as strong and not noticable.

No side trim. Im thinking about a satin black stripe along the body line. We will see. Im going to play with a few things. As far as the engine goes... The eventual plan is 2.0 long stroke turbo on megasquirt. Smile

should scoot nicely, but that is for the body off resto or next year depending on how itchy i get.

What is the silver thing mounted on the motor that is sitting on the table? it looks like an oil cooler mounted to the fan intake. Shocked

that's an oil cooler that I was going to try before putting the square in storage. I have a stuck oil pressure relief valve and was blowing up oil coolers. It is not staying there. I have another oil cooler and am fitting an external paper filter to the engine with a sump.

I have removed the pass rear fender, bumper, hood, all of the side glass and tore apart the pass door.

Just a quick tip, I noticed in that last picture that the rubber washers from the fender bolts are still on the car. You might want to grab those, if they fall, they can be a pain to find.

ok... a small question.

behind this panel is the air intake for the motor. there is sheet metal behind here that has seam sealer that has rotted. what would you guys recommend to seal the inside of this panel? I was considering drilling out the myriad of spot welds holding the panel in and rewelding it back after sealing it up. I could also just cut it open and butt weld it back together.

I need to remove the little rust that is in there and seal it up so as to prevent a major cancer spot.
