Just wondering if anyone out there knows why I can't see emoticons. I have them turned on on The Samba control panel, have newest Flash download. One day I just couldn't see them, soon after I got my new laptop a few years ago - DELL w/Windows 7 pro...
I can type them... but can't see them in any post.
Also when I try to download literature or wiring diagrams from The Samba I can't see the filename to click and download.
Thanks! _________________ '71 Westy |

Most computers come with tons of security software right out of the box. I'm thinking you have some type of overprotective security software that is disabling links. I can't help much more than that. I worked for Dell for a little while a few years ago but have tried to block that era from my memory so I can't think of specifics. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

Even though you say you have them on, go to your "Control Panel". Towards the middle of that page you'll see the "Preferences" section. In there, make sure following options are checked YES.
Always allow BBCode:
Always allow HTML:
Always enable Smilies:
That might take care of things for you. I have everything checked YES except the 'notify me of replies', and everything here works fine for me. _________________

You know, that reminds me of what happened. I loaded a new security program a year or more ago (I think Norton All-in-one) and I think that's when I stopped seeing emoticons. But I'm not using that Norton anymore... but I think you nailed it. Security software. My stoner mind came to that conclusion a year ago but forgot by now I guess! I now remember deciding a year ago that too much security was better than seeing emoticons...

Well then maybe your tin foil hat is blocking them. _________________

Yes, probably a banner blocker program that thinks they are banners. |
Most likely, since I never see banner ads!! _________________ '71 Westy |
