Hi im not real familiar with folding shifters but I want to learn.
At this point there are about 10 pages that pop up when searching the forms. Although I've learned a little there isn't much info about brands, copies, and identifying markings.
If you have one please post pictures.
If you know anything about them (brands, years they fit, identifying copies, original markings, quality of manufacturer, anything) please post.
I want to put one in my beetle and I want a good quality original pice. I would hate to spend $500 plus for a cheaply made copy.
Thanks. Dustin _________________ Wanted Victoria motors licence plate frame.

Here's a couple of mine, all Volmacs. To my knowledge, this style has not been reproduced.
Dehne also makes a folding shifter. This type has not been reproduced either

About 15-18 years ago, VVWCA offered a crude folding mechanism for under $200 It required the user to cut the shifter near the base. The folding mechanism was then sandwiched between the two parts _________________ 1947 Type 11a

Do you know if there is any way to tell the volmac and the koch? I've seen one of these at the classic a couple years ago and I wanted it but didn't feel good about paying the $500 the guy was asking. He didn't have enough information to make me feel comfortable to buy it. _________________ Wanted Victoria motors licence plate frame.

The folding shifter along with seat recliners and a folding steering wheel "unicorn" makes a camping kit. With all these items you can fold down the seats and shifter, fold up the steering wheel and then you can sleep flat in a beetle.
