what intake manifold are you going to be using? I had a hard time fitting some spark plug wires and a cb performance shorty manifold for weber 40/44idf type throttle bodies. Bought some spark plug wires with 45 degree ends and cut them to length. Thats the only way I could make it fit properly.

Im starting out with the stock dual carbs, then later a stock FI intake runner.

I havnt checked but i think there will be plenty of room for the coils.

Then full of confidence i proceded to "Fix" my old stock exhaust....
The connecting pipes to the HEX had rusted through and the tail pipe had gone in both bends....+ my EMPI exhaust had blown up!!!! Confused what a POS

i got some scrap exhaust pipe that was about the right diameter from the local mechanic (for the best price)

Then used the tailpipe off my EMPI exhaust because it was actually quite thick pipe and welded it in

looks pretty neat i think .....? i drove about 200km yesterday with no problems, (even when the cop pulled me over for a bretho and walked around my car he didnt complain)

not sure how it will hold up in the long run because im not very experienced with a welder but i added in metal to try and reinforce my shoddy welds. hopefully it will hold together.

I must say that the stock exhaust is very quiet.... it is amazing. i think it might be worth getting a radio now....

Im really struggling with the COP circuit ..... Brick wall

Here is where im at.

ignitors
pin 1 are wired to r26 or r29
pin 2 To the coil (IB pin - pin 3)
pin3 to Earth (ground)

my coils have 3 pins ....
pin 1 is G - (where does this go??? to ground or ecu (pin 36))
pin 2 is 12+ ( To 12v i.e battery)
pin 3 is IB - to ignitor (pin 2)

im really hopping someone can help me out, The G pin on the coilpacks are doing my head in.... i need to get some pigtails first but then im just going to wire this up and see if it works because im sick of information overload. Twisted Evil

I'm running 2 wire coils but I think the only difference is the 3 wires have an extra gnd. Looks right to me, if I have a chance tomorrow i'll look at how I wired my setup up. Don't worry, it kicked my butt too Wink .

The 12v is an ignition hot 12v from the battery. The G is a ground to the engine or the body very near by. The shorter the grounds are the better. The third is your trigger from megasquirt. If you are using wasted spark tie the two cylinders together that are at TDC at the same time. Its been a while, but i think its 1-3 , 2-4 as the firing order is 1432.

so i wired it up like this today ..... nothing... no beans Sad

im starting to think that the ground on the coil should go to pin 36 for spark A and 31 for spark B,

yeh i think that wiring is correct .... my setup was pretty getto Embarassed

Im headding to my workshop this weekend so i can set up camp and sort things through logically and not on the footpath... I had my desktop set up in the car.

I have been getting a delay in my tach signal (and the led flashing) in any transition ... high to low .... low to high rpm ect.
It could be just because i only have the tach pluged in and the ecu dosent understand the sudden change in rpm... ( no map or tps )
