I did a while back but thanks for reminding me of this article, it is very helpful. I may have an access to dual Dellorto 40 but with the wrong linkage and without manifolds so after all said and done will be about $550 for all.
I think I will hold off until I find a good and complete pair, maybe by then I will be tempted to beef up the engine _________________ 68 Ghia

It have been a productive couple of weeks, replaced the brake hoses, front and back calipers and cylinders, new SVDA distributor, new emergency brake handle adjusted, new shifter, shift rod bushing, coupler along with a quick shifter adapter, thermostat and repaired the heat hoses while I am at it. Hopefully I will have it on the road sometime within the next couple of weeks… yay

68 is a 0ne year only seat. It has the early size slider frames and one piece high back seat. Looks "similar" to this one...

Thanks gti72
Thanks gti72
For the seats c21darrel pretty much covered it, my Ghia didn’t have the original seats or tracks when I got it so I sourced a full set from a what I believe is a 69. _________________ 68 Ghia

It was a nice enough day today to give it a quick test drive, I heard some noises from the suspension which I will need to track but snapped some pictures of the progress so far.
I forget that my Ghia used to live in so cal

looking good, v. nice color
...I dont dislike YOUR seats its just any 68 only ghia seat. On the other hand...one year only=RARE... or theres a reason they only had em 1 year. I had a hard time practically giving mine away. |

thanks Darrel, I am not a fan of the one piece seats either.
on another note, I just finished replacing the clamps and bushings on the front sway bar and I just have to say WHAT the hell!!! they should include a warning with the oem replacement kit

Bought a dual 36 dells from an ad here on the samba, some issues but I am getting help on them from the engine forum here.
The real reason for this post is to share my experience with the Chem-dip carburetors chemical cleaner, the carbs I bought were sprayed black for some reason that I needed to strip and also were in need for a good internal cleaning.
Below is a pic of the results after two hours dip and taking everything off the carb.
I know about the soda blasting method but this stuff is good as well. $18 from Walmart. _________________ 68 Ghia

| Wow you did some amazing work. I might have to go out and get one of those welders to learn how to weld. Until now everyone had me believing they were crap. All it takes is a wire change. Anyways good luck on the build can't wait to see more progress. |

Great job so far...lookin' good!
Judging by the photos, it appears that you've got a bit too much positive camber in the rear axle...might want to think about adjusting it. That can lead to some squirrelly handling. There's a good "sticky" at the beginning of this forum about suspension adjustments. _________________ '65 Ghia coupe (totaled)
