A friend recommend this site to me. I am not a VW fan, but he thought that I should post the VW that I found out in my woods. I have not even moved into my new house yet and found the previous owner left this car in the woods. I am really not sure what to do with it. Any suggestions? I will try to take more pictures, but there is not much sunlight where it is sitting.

Start with Craigslist first. Be sure to indicate it's abandoned. You normally need a title to hand it over to a yard.

Judging from the ferns, forest, and blackberry bushes I'm guessing Stanwood, WA.

Try telling that to the DMV if you are trying to gain title. Rolling Eyes

Thats not always the case. It may be your headache, but it may not be your property.

Not until you go through all the proper channels.

I know of people around here that were able to obtain title on vehicles that were on the property when it was purchased. Not sure how that works in WA.

I am sorry, but I am a little lost where I mentioned that it wasn't my responsibility. I am in this forum for the sole purpose of figuring out how to get rid of it. At any point if I thought it was "their" property, I would have just called them to come get it. Confused

Thanks guys...I will just take the plasma cutter to it and take the pieces to recycling. Thanks for everyone's input.

Just waste it. Evil or Very Mad Mad

Atleast find a VW guy and see if he wants it. May be a few pieces someone could use.

Well I do not have title so I cannot take it to the junk yard. What is the difference between taking it to the junk yard or scrap?

I guess that is the hard part. I put it on craiglist, but so far people are asking me tons of questions that I do not have the answers for. I was hoping someone would just want it and come get it. I guess I am delusional.

As stated above, go through the proper channels and obtain a title or post it for sale in the classifieds.
So far all you've said is "I'm not a VW fan,so I thought I'd show you guys a VW that I'm going to cut up because I don't care...

I dont agree, by coming here he's shown he cares. The less than helpful replies, and insults, have likely lead him to care a lot less. Wink

I dont know if its in Washington or where it is but I see old bugs (and other cars) being sold on craigs list quite often where the seller says "no titile"

If I were close by, I'd happily come and get it, along with a statement from you, the property owner, outlining the circumstances. If, by some small miracle, it's worth saving, work out the details then. Having something hauled off of your own property, that you purchased lock, stock, and VW, seems reasonable and prudent.

Don't over think it. It's a rusty carcass.

Do you have more pictures of it? If so, please post them and we can at least help identify the year etc to give you a better idea of what you have, what it may be worth.
