WOW!!! I just got a sweet used set from a Bay at a junkyard for $5.00. |
I was talking with someone the other day and they commented "your window visors look like dealership options, not like that cheap aftermarket crap.". I had no clue nor could I tell the difference. If the seller said "NOS" then someone, not me, may think about it. You never know these days. |

Nice bus, but it is overpriced. It being a non-camper, and not a special model or color makes it a bit run-of-the-mill. But, it has all of the documentation from new, tourist delivery, decent interior, body looks straight and dry, and it has what sounds like a nice, strong, fresh engine.
Hard to assess this one. I would guess it's in the $5-$7K range. _________________ nothing |

why not buff the paint? i bet if VdubTech got ahold of it the value doubles because the paint would look so much better.
if its original, why is there white coming through on the nose, just above the grill? _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

I agree, it would look nicer and probably fetch more money of it were buffed out really well. I would bet that paint would come out great.
I think what you are seeing on the nose is the paint fading through to the primer. I suppose it could be a repaint though. Hard to tell without seeing it in person.
Missing the rear bumper, too. For an asking price of more than a couple of grand, I would expect a rear bumper. But I do see Zee bed brackets on the rear seat back. That's a nice bonus.
EDIT: OK, just had a closer look through the photobucket link, and I see a pic of a rear bumper. Strike that comment. And upon closer inspection, it may have had a partial repaint. The left rear corner has definitely been repaired and painted, and the passenger side appears to be a slightly different shade of red. Could just need a good clean and buff, though. _________________ nothing

A nice, clean, shiny bus. Looks to be very solid and complete.
Roof, bumpers and wheels have been repainted the wrong color. Body has been repainted, color looks slightly off but it's pretty nice in the pics. Mechanically sound. It's a 70, which for early bay buyers is less desirable than a 68 or a 71.
I prefer original paint, as it hides nothing and tells a story. Many people prefer shiny new paint, as it is shiny and new so it must be better somehow. I would guess that this bus is realistically an $8K bus. Maybe more in the eyes of a Raven who likes shiny stuff.
The fact that it has been for sale for half a year tells you something, too. _________________ nothing |

Thats just a relative statement How rusty, rusty from what? Describe what you think is rusty? Rusted through or growth on unprotected steel caused by moisture in the air...... _________________

I don't know, doesn't really seem all that far off to me. Granted it's not a camper, still rust-free, straight and complete. _________________ 85 Vanagon GL Westy GW 2.2 (Rebuilt by YT)

Does any one else want to see a change in the used bay parts here on the samba? What I mean is early bay and late bay parts are all in the same list. most (all)are not interchangeable . I know if you want to find something to search but I like to "browse" through the pages of parts. but, it seems that these two busses should be in seperate sections, not every one owns a t2a and a t2b, and there are a lot of crap parts in there to wade through. how hard would that be to add one more sub section? early bay, late bay they are different animals. _________________ SGKent wrote:

Or maybe if you could just sort through year-related parts. Like when you post an ad you can choose the option of what year of bay your crap fits.
Hell it's useless. nevermind. back to browsing! _________________ -Tony
