Can anyone tell me the size and amount of each size fuel hose I need for a 412 estate? I am replacing all of it. I can use the same help for vacuum hose too.

Thanks.

The Type 3 takes 22' of 5/16" standard reinforced rubber fuel hose & 30 new clamps for fuel injection.

There are a lot more different diameter fuel and vacuum hoses than on my vanagon with L-jet. I am hope someone can tell me so it will make it easier to go to the FLAPS and get what I need.

from my little black book....buy 33' of fuel hose. The 411 and 412 use a little more ...because after the hoses leave the tunnel they track up the firewall behind the back seat (especially the sedan) following the sheet metal curve and going through several little welded in loops. Also ...going from distant memory, the hose size is the same for the MPS hose so I use the leftover 3' for that. Otherwise about 28-29 feet is required. Be sure to leave a little extra for all of the fitments up front so as the hoses age or leak at the clamps you can trim some off for a clean fit.

The fuel hose from tank to filter is 10mm
I will have to dig arouund for vacuum hose attachments for L-jet.

A '74 wagon like yours doesn't have one-it's a manifold pressure sensor for D-Jet injection.

Another question, for the heater fuel hose, do I still need to use 30R9 hose or can I get by with a lower pressure ethanol rated fuel hose?

Thanks all

There is no pressure at all on the heater hose but it is such a risk and so hard to get to....I got rid of the hose eons ago and used a long piece of brake tubing. I bent to fit the welded loops in the body. I use hose wrapped around the line at each loop so it fits snug.

I connect to the pump down belowe with a short length of fuel line. Up top...I connect with a brass compression fitting that was lightly sanded inside of the bushing to fit the line...and the nipple on teh fuel inlet was lightly sanded as well. If the bottom hose stub leaks att he pump its no risk and is easy to reach and fix. Ray
