Have any of you have purchased these cup holders?
They look great, but I am concern about how they can hold a regular DD coffee cup if you hit a bump.

have you seen these? i have one in my notch and love it. they have them in chrome, black, and white. it has 2 drink holders one is large the other smaller. the large will hold a 32 oz drink easily, and it has a basket area for other stuff.

I have seen those, the plastic center tunnel, and the one on the ash tray too. But this one that I paste above hides away. I have a bamboo tray and it would be to much in that area. I don't want to give up my bamboo tray.

It would keep the interior look stock when the glove compartment is closed.

No spills over bumps either.

I wouldn't trust that one, looks to shallow to hold anything as valuable as a cup of fresh Coffee. Let alone anything else. Well maybe some loose change.

I have to vouch for the WW metal tunnel drink holder. I have one of the chrome ones in my '61, and also a Bambus tray under the dash, and they both fit nicely without either being in the way. It has one larger ring and a smaller ring inside to hold most sized cups and also has a space behind to hold snacks, napkins or larger bottles. My only complaint is that when I got it it seemed a little too wide for the tunnel. You could either bend the wire in some, or, what I did, was to drill some holes in some wine corks and then wedge it in. They have that vintage look too.

I have that type in black. My leg hits the metal often but not bad enough to spill coffee. That cup holder in the glovebox cover is ridiculous.

Thanks, I guess I'll still looking for the perfect cup holder. If I find some other ones I'll post them.

I had a home made one just recently. I took an empty quart paint can and cut the upper lid area from it. I then placed 3 small rubber wheels off of a turf stripper (centers knocked out of the tires) over the quart can. They fit over the can just snug enough to hold the empty can perfectly. I kept it on the passenger floor board. The only draw back is I have a shoulder harness and it is difficult to reach the cup.

I changed over to a plug n chug. I like it but it obstructs the radio.

theone on the glove box door will only work well if your sitting still. Hit a bump and the glove box door bounces, spilling coffe on the passenger but more likely into the glove box. Dont do it.

We measured the width of the hump behind my shifter and cut a "u" shape out of wood that fits over the hump. Then we got those windows cup holders and cut a slit to fit into the wood. To fit smaller cups into the cup holder I use pipe insulation. I'd take a picture for you, but car is in the shop.

The bad thing about that kind of cupholder is it will turn carbonated drink flat. To much bouncing! Laughing

The other problem with that kind of cup holder is they get all bitchy and moany when you drive to have fun.

That think on the glove box door is not a cup holder. It's more like a drink coaster or a place holder so you know where to put your drink when you are parked.

And it gets real expensive when you decide to change it.
