| My clutch pedal falls back on the floor towards the seat. I have read abou the pedal stop on the floor. ( Well dont have one). The pedal sits about 2oclock in the resting postion, and whenn you take you hand off of it, goes right to the floor and the cable comes of the hook. I have the longest cable that is avaulible 90 1/4 inch. What possition should the pedal be in the resting postion and what solition have you guys came up with for this issue. |

A stop plate can be made from a piece of 90 degree angle iron.
You would have to drill a slotted hole for the bolt to go thru for adjustment. |

Adjust so both pedals are about 8" from the bulkhead for starters.
Beware of eliminating required brake pushrod clearance, though. |

I tried to use the currently available stop plates from WW and cip1 but they wouldn't fit the new pans. The hole in the pan is too far forward. I had to modify and basically make my own using the store bought one as the actual bent part that stops the pedal.
These photos will give you an idea of what I did, maybe it'll be of some help.

WW sells 2 stop plates - one for aftermarket pans and one for stock - I will be installing one of those today in a 67. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1776.

Where did you get your pans? I got mine from WW and they came with a stop plate that fits. Also, in the link I provided above, they even describe that specific stop plate for use, "[...] with aftermarket floor pans installed" _________________ - e

I got my floor pans from WW also. Forgot that they sent a new stop plate with them. I was installing the pedals, and ended up making my own stop plate, then discovered right after I installed it, the new one in the box. Well, you revealed (1) you knew about the stop, yet (2) still asked for a solution.
We concluded you wanted a solution that didn't involve installing a stock pedal stop plate. |

Well, with that attitude, I am sure you will get lots of smiling help from the forum now!
You can argue with me, but I answered your question, you just don't happen to like the answer.
I also posted the photo and measurement. I guess you don't want REAL help, just an argument.

You imply that you know about the stop plate but don't want to use it. So I asked why you wouldn't want to.
Install the stop plate, that you have read about and don't have (maybe you didn't read enough). The pedal should be in the normal upright position somwhat inline with the brake pedal (which I also wonder how that's not flopping on the floor either at this point). Measurments and fine adjustments can be found in the Bently Manual.
That is the most ideal solution, with as little and no douche-baggery that I can muster. _________________ - e
