I am looking for a source for olive grun paint for a 1970 german army thing. Anybody have any ideas? thanks Eric

Any reputable auto paint store can get you what you need. May have to go to Palm or Desert Springs though. I've been to 29 and there's pretty slim pickins there.

In adittion to color, what are you looking for the finish? Do you want the drab or gloss. Being in 29 I would have though you would want to go with the desert colors.

I want to do a resto on it so that is why I want to go green. I do like the idea of desert tan though.

this is the stock thing green with the simi gloss finish if you like this color brother can get you the paint code it was just mixed for us this summer

Google sketchup (it's free). It's actually 3D and you can make your viewpoint from anywhere. I had to add the seats and the wheel. You can import the 181 and trailer from the librarys. I think the original color was orange. Then I gave it a "re-paint" using a a sample of MARPAT I found on the internet.

I've always wondered how they did the camo tops. Did they just paint the top when they did the rest of the vehicle?

That's the base color. The camo was usually done by the NATO unit itself.

Red, yellow and blue make olive. you can mix away til you find the tint you are after!

With the RAL numbers, every decent paint store could provide you with the wanted color?
