Painted my rims (as well as, ebrake, shifter & pedal assembly). Now, time to rebuild the brakes, shop for wide white walls and get these mounted!

Working on the boring stuff, but I'm still working.
Lots of sand blasting small parts. Ordering parts and seals.
I'm really looking forward to my project making some visual progress. _________________ 59 Euro Ragtop Build

I am just returning to the VW scene. This past weekend I got some major parts that I wanted for the project. I got an oval ragtop clip, and a new pan. and traded some parts for the labor to build my engine. My project might actually work out and come together, which hasn't happened for me in a long time so I am real excited.

I sold my wrecked '61 to a guy that is going to fix her up and get her back on the road. Bittersweet day. _________________ Gretal, my '69 type 1 dark & lowered.

Today I got my new horn ring for my 66 bug and installed it. also installed the wiring for the teardrop from the car to trailer. I had to replaced the one I had since it didn't have a brake light connection and this new one does.
When to DMV and registered the trailer soon to be teardrop camper and got my license plate for it. _________________ Custom labels available here

Reassembled: all four brakes, e-brake, pedal assembly, shifter and almost finished the wiper assembly. Can't really do anything with all of it yet (as the body is no where close to being done); but it's satisfying to add them to the "done" parts pile and slowly watching the "not-done" parts pile shrink. _________________ - e

Put four sets of relined brakes on. Bled brakes and adjusted shoes. Adjusted front bearings. Adjusted valves, points gap, timing. Cleaned and tightened starter solenoid connections, battery posts, automatic choke connections.
Wow. When everything is dialed in on a Beetle, it drives so incredibly well. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

Today I picked up a Sapphire VI Am/FM for $25 in Craigslist, a rear bumper with risers, two wheels with wide fives rims (66-67), and some wheel adapters. Installed the wide fives with adapters to the teardrop camper bed to match my 66 bug and the look (I think) okay. I just did them for position only. Later I have to strip them and paint them and dress them with white walls.

Purchased a set of pistons and cylinders for my 36 hp from a fellow that had them in stock for a while. He made me a deal on them. Only to find out they are for a 40 hp and will not fit. Oh well back to the reality, its true. _________________ 59 Euro Ragtop Build

Today, measurements and fittings on my teardrop camper project. I am adding two more feet of length to make it 4' x 8' and I am going to have to move the axle more to the back for better balance. I cut out the tail lights brackets and did some wheel sanding on some surface rust to get the frame ready for primer.
Tomorrow will have to do a trip to HomeDepot for the birch plywood (three 4' x 8') and the extra metal I need for the addition of the 2 extra feet.
On my 66 bug I secured the rain guards on the doors with the proper screws and replace the deck lid seal. The old one was very old already and in little pieces. _________________ Custom labels available here

Busy day yesterday. I had been puzzled myself on a oil leak for about a year now. After several month of search and try-and-errors, I change the oil on the air cleaner and gives it a nice clean treatment, blow pressure air thru the vent on the oil filler (lots of crap came out of there), changed the oil, cleaned the screen, cleaned the oil pressure valve. And now, there is no oil coming out from the crank pulley. I think I found the problem and I hope is fixed.
Today, I'll try to fixed my driver side window so the inner felt doesn't bent inward every time I try to roll down the window. Nice to have good weather again. _________________ Custom labels available here
