Pull left carb off and take it apart clean it up really good. Sounds to me that there is a plugged jet by what you posted, and pull the filter out of the carb to see if it has any flow issues also.

Thanks guys, I need to get some bigger tires for the fronts and polish them up too. Thanks Mike I'm going to try pulling the carb off tonight and see what I find.

My buddy and I are are competing to see who can get their baja roadworthy first.. Laughing

^^I use the Type 3 lower tin on all my engines as do a lot of people. Why is it not right if they provide better cooling circulation than those little Type 1 ones? This is in a baja..we don't use all those big dog sled tins running underneath so I just use the Type 3 tin.

None taken. I can be "good" sometimes but not great.
And thanks for setting me straight on the pix, I did not think that far into it. Embarassed And at-least your car looks nice, your eyes probably will hurt if you see my car.

I have also run type 3 tins. After talking to Jake Raby though, and hearing the results of his cooling tests, I have since switched back to the type 1 tins. type 3 tins belong on type 3's due to the cooling fan setup. There is no advantage to running them on a type 1.

To each his own though. Run them if thats what you've been doing, but don't expect any amazing results like what is advertised.

Jake's testing was run with full tins in place, then adding the T3 cool tins. It is a complete different dynamic when the full tins are not run, like on a baja, rail buggy or fiberglass buggy.

I run the original T1 tins when the engine is installed with full tins. I run the T3 cool tins when the engne will be in the open without the advantage of the full factory tins in place.

First set of T3 cool tins I used was back in 1984 in a 1915cc that I got over 100,000 miles out of.

When I was building my engine I decided to use T3 lower tins because I have a baja. If I was running a sealed engine bay, then I would have used T1 tins. Glad I'm not the only one who reached this conclusion Smile
