Looking great Kevin. Is the engine assembly taking place at Chez Gizmo?

Hey Scott. Yeah, Bob has been working away at my engine. When I can't be there, he still can't himself. I think he is enjoying the progress as much as I am Very Happy

Hope I'm not letting the cat out of the bag but we removed the engine from his Italian Notch for a rebuild. I dropped off the tins for sandblast/powder coat yesterday.

I am still pushing to have this at the Classic but it wont be easy. I have a feeling it will come down to hours before the actual show.

How is your car coming along?

Right now it's just sitting, as usual. We're in the middle of a house addition and all my time (and money!) will be going toward that for the next couple of months.

I still have some fine tuning to do by way of fender beading adjustmment and alignment but its coming together fairly quickly.

I had some help from Gangsta Rapper Jerry Han and Gizmo. Thanks playas!

Thanks for the props guys.

FOR THE RECORD.....The demon beer has been placed and hopefully all of the bad ju-ju has been sent away from this ride.

Today. I got the door rubbers in and ordered enough rubber washers to finish the fenders. I even got my wife and daughter involved (which is a rare occurance).

In order to finish the car, look for me to be recycling anything recyclable and to donate blood as often as they will allow me to. Does anyone know if you actually have to have two kidneys?

You know, you are right. I love that feeling. I have had the privilege of having that feeling for a few cars and it makes the bloody knuckles, sleepless nights, and skipping lunch all worth it.

I've had it a couple of times...it's pretty damned nice.

It's a beautiful car you're building. It's inspiring to see all of these early cars come back together.

It has been a long year....I feel like a year of roller coaster rides. Although it has been a challenge, it has been fun. I wish it wasn't so expensive but there is no reward without risk and sacrifice.

I appreciate you guys allowing me to share. It makes the process so much more enjoyable when your peers agree go with your progress. Keep your fingers crossed that things keep moving in the right direction.

So has Bob set you up with the seat cover guy? That's the only reason I don't tear into the body & paint on my '63 - I don't want to have a finished exterior mated with a thrashed interior.

Hey Tom. My interior is nothing more than a phone call away so I am sure that applies for yours too. The ball has to start rolling because I hope to have the headliner done before the end of the week.

Honestly, I would leave your car the way it is. I really like it. You are a seasoned samba veteran so you know that there is no rush to pull a driver off of the road just for cosmetic purposes. I've never driven my Notch so I had less reservations about getting some new paint on it.

Interesting...last time I talked to him (a couple weeks ago) he was still waiting on a rear seat pattern or something to that effect. At any rate, I'll probably wait until the interior stuff is in hand before I tear my car down.
