Joe & Sam-- I can do the weekend of the 14th. If you guys want to pencil that "cruise" in. Whether its just 3 things or 10 of us, I think it would be a fun non-eventful Laughing Ride! Should we try and tentatively schedule that?

Now that is dedication!

Drive 5000 miles round trip to make a 100 mile cruise in TN.

Sam is a regular "wandering gnome" of 181 drivers. We've been graced by his presence up here in Washington (it was a short drive for Sam).

Maybe I am not understanding GI Joe and Addict. If I am having a drive in KY on July 14 then you guys will also have a drive in TN on the same weekend? The Kubel Treffen drive is not a "Hey lets go for a drive Sat". Let me explain what I do for a drive. First I pick an area to drive to and find a motel to base from. Then I start finding places to visit and drive to. I watch the mileage to find gas stations. Find neat places to eat and see. Then I lay out a course and drive it in my truck. I also drive this tour a week before the drive to make sure it is OK to drive, not tarring the road etc. The Kubel Treffen drive and the show is planned about the same except no judging and more driving. The drives I have had in the past has had 20-25 cars from 5-6 states. It would be great if a group got together and drove to KY for the drive.

Ron,
i think it's a miscommunication. Sam mentioned the 14th in his post, But I took that as a response to YOUR post(mentioning that date as potential).
Addict asked for PM's to get a guage on interest.... More of an open invite to start a discussion and figure out when/if a few can get together(this needs a new thread itself!)...

I'm all over one of Your drives! I was thinking it sounded like a KTE-Lite... Which is cool with me!! I don't need "judged" anymore than normal! LOL..

It's more about the hanging out and driving these machines!!!

Exactly. Not trying to take anyone's place or anything like that. Nor setup hotels, places to eat. More of a "Hey, I want to go for a ride--- preferably around the blue ridge parkway in my Thing" Who wants to join me with theirs?

A non-organized event--- just a ride, in place of the dates where it would have been if it was scheduled for people that wanted to go. Not trying to organize anything more then, hey... lets go for a ride for a day or two! That's all. Smile

I will make it, then I plan to go to Seattle the following weekend for vintage meet. I also plan to go on the Mojave road run, memorial day weekend, 200 miles off road between Laughlin NV, and Barstow with no gas stations!

Add West Virginia to that state list.

Ron, Thanks a bunch for putting this together.

I will mark it down and get my reservations at the hotel.

Will there be drives on Friday afternoon/night and Sunday Morning?

Thanks Bill from Delaware

Plans are still in the making but what I have so far is to go to eat, something simple on Fri nite about 7:00 PM and get to know each other. Sat drive most of the day with stops about 100 miles total back to the hotel 6:00- 7:00 PM. Sun start out about 9:00 AM for a breakfast drive and try to have everyone back and ready to head home by noon. CB radios work well to keep everyone together.

Cool Ted!

Maybe we can coax Matt to bring his Thing. He should have it done in about 2 months.

I am trying to clean up the mailing list. It would help me if everyone that wants to stay on the list or be added to send me your info both email and mailing info. I will be mailing out flyers with registration info soon. No entry fee, I just need to know how many cars and people. I don't want to plan on 10 cars and 20 people and have 40 cars and 80 people.

So close, but not quite... Same weekend as VW Drag Night and 400 miles away kinda makes this year a no-go. My Thing will make it to a Kubel Treffen eventually.
