Rollbar height Original Real Manx bodied cars please.

What is your roll bar vertical height from top of stock VW tunnel?

What is your windshield vertical height from top of tunnel?

Yes I know there will be some difference depending on the laid back angle as not everyone mounts them the same. Looking for the great proportions with this question. Post a side view picture as an example if you wish.

Thanks

What would be even better is if the angle of the windscreen and roll bar is also listed, if possible.

The windshield should be approximately 30 degrees or 60” from the back side, upper, center of the windshield frame to the center, vertical of the rear set back and the horizontal of the body. In other words, the upper edge of the rear seat.
The original roll bar from Manx came up from the floor approximately 6”. The bar is 37" tall. It was dictated by the lower bracket that mounted to the frame. The bracket and roll bar would sandwich the body.
The roll bar angle it dictated by the age of the roll bar. They changed the upper mounts. That’s why I make two tops.
The wind shield height should be 17" hood to top with out the rubber on.

Roll bars should be 4-6 inches above head of tallest person seated in buggy ..... Just a generic height probable makes no sense if drivers head and passenger heads hit roll bars or stick up above them...

My front hoop of cage matches windshield height and angle, rear hoop of cage is about 3 inches above top of my CRASH HELMET when I am seated in buggy...

BUZZ WORD phrase here is SEATED IN BUGGY..... Almost any buggy will have different types of seating and that will determine how high your brain holder (skull) is above seat or where the rear hoop needs to be in relationship to everything else....

The seat's should be installed to proper height in relation to the roll bar and windshield frame, Not the other way around.

Here's the dimensions of a standard Meyers Manx roll bar (in millimeters) if that helps. The original recomendation was for it to fit at the same height and angle as the screen.

The seat should be installed to the most comfortable position for the person doing most of the driving. Reaching controls and steering wheel and foot position on the pedals is far more important than matching your seat to a rollbar.

When i build my car this is the order I use.

Pedals, Seat, Steering Wheel, Shifter, Switches. then I build the roll bar or cage and rest of the car around that.

A Manx roll bar and stock windshield have only one height if installed as proscribed. This is the point as the topic is about a real Manx.

With that being said. I am curious how tall one would go with a windshield and roll cage to accommodate the seats before one thought they were to tall?

What would the measurement need to be to run your top?
from back of windshield to the center of roll bar (1.75" tubing).

Going to be starting cage soon and will be getting a top from you at some point.

THanks

Tom is correct in that if the windshield and roll bar in a stock Manx are installed correctly there is only one height for each.

I ask my question again being even more specific.

What is the vertical height from the top of the stock VW tunnel to the top of the windshield in inches?

What is the vertical height from the top of the stock VW tunnel to the top of the roll bar in inches?
