Very interesting. I don't HAVE to use sand... Collecting it though will be hard I have no enclosed areas (But making my own like you said might be a though).

Have you thought about a chemical strip process, or having the car dipped?

This is what happens when you don't know what you are doing with a blaster! This was a beetle when he started and look how it warped all those panels!

Sorry Brent! Laughing

I have... but it won't get rid of the dust. I had someone today tell me to build a box around the Beetle and work from the outside.. Not too practical while I was standing right next to the bug.

Just buy a Big blue tarp to catch your sand. Filter it thru a window screen before you reuse it.

That could work.

Something I saw a few years back was a vacuum cleaner that used water as a "filter". The suction port on top created a vacuum that sucked the dirty air through a reservoir of water, it used no filters as far as I can remember. I think this is the same way that an oil bath filter works. It would be pretty easy to make something like this but for breathing. However, would I trust my life to it? Probably not. And, with the length of the hose, would my inhaling create enough vacuum to bring in fresh air through 5 gallons of water?
