I get a lot of walking in being a mechanic. A few years ago, we wore pedometers at work for the heck of it. Assuming they were accurate, we averaged 4 - 7 miles per day (depending on how many trips we had to make to the parts counter). Aside from that, I chase around my 7, 2-1/2 and twin 1-1/2 year old kids around, and I play beer league ice hockey on Sunday nights. My wife and I also like taking the kids for about a 1 mile walk after dinner.

About a year ago, my wife and I bought a pretty expensive elliptical machine. Well, it was more for me, as she has a super metabolism, can eat whatever she wants and still be skinny. Confused I, on the other hand, have went from 190lbs on our wedding day in 2009, to about 215lbs. currently. Embarassed This is what happens when your career changes from being active on a shop floor all day long to sitting on your a$$ in an office all day long. So we both go for walks every evening, and I try to keep the dust off of that elliptical. But I hate it.

I have a Bontrager Node 1 that tracks speed, cadance, miles and a few other things. My son has a Garmin that has GPS and he can download all the info. It also works if you carry it when you run.

i did have a bell wireless cycle computer but it sucked 3/4 of the time it didnt work and the 1/4 of the time it did work it was wrong. now i have been playing with an app on my phone for a month or 2 called cycle droid. it uses gps to track your progress.

P90X works great but it a commitment for sure. Wish I could get back into running/jogging but my knees/shins give me issues after a mile or so.

I just got into running. I even signed up for the Tough Mudder run here in October. Excited for that. Also a novice at Parkour and just gathering equipment for to begin some weight lifting.

Also. My job is very physical. When I started working there I weighed 210. A couple years later with no diet change I was at 195. Then I started eating better and eliminated soda and I went down to 175. Now I'm back up to 188 ish. But I'm working on that.
