Wow Maurice that's hard core!

Nobody got hurt?

Do you need to reupholster the front seat from when your cheeks squeezed together?

Any pics?

Joe

Joe,

I'm alright and luckily I still had clean chonies after the incident. I'll post pics of the damage, and thankfully my insurance is going to cover the carnage.

I live in the north county in San Marcos, San Elijo Hills community. There's a bunch of wild life still running around here. Well at least one less deer now..

Too bad you couldn't wait to cream a deer until the actual weekend, imagine the feast!!!

Maurice, you have over a month to get it fixed, so, get it fixed. But seriously, is it not driveable? I have a headlight bucket if you need one.

Dan its totally drivable (in the day time) and thank God my insurance is going to cover it. The pictures don't look as bad as in person. Theres deer hairs stuck in small places and stuff. I'm going to get it to a body shop early this week so I don't miss out on this BADA$$ SD CAMP AND CRUISE!! Now if I was still LOWERED, it could have been more ugly...

Yikes! Dented the bumper and everything! What did you do with the carcass? Is Earl making some venison jerky with it or what?

Right on the money Dan. What else do you think Cunado Earl is good for? He's got marinating for the campout! He's calling the dish "Kombi Surprise!" hehe
Nah really, after hitting and running over it, that deer took off. It must have seen that he just banged up an early walkthru and knew how pissed I'd be!! Plus I don't think he had insurance.

OK, enough with Bill's crazy talk and on with the camp/cruise. Here is a link to the campsite. It sounds pretty deluxe.

I still need to work on the actual route. Will post more about it soon.

Bill, there's a herd in Santee in Sycamore Canyon and at least two in PQ Canyon (Tunnels).

When only the air-cooled rigs are running from EMP and Zombies, I know where we can eat.

Scariest night of my life was driving in Texas (early 90s) in my first '67 Bus. (total hippie wagon) - LBJ Ranch area in the Hill Country. There were hundreds (millions) of 'em. Just waiting for my headlights and I though if I hit a deer in the bus, I was dead.
I aged a week in that 4 hours.

My kids call the new bus the Zombie rig. Not as much torque as the F250, but I know how to keep it running well past the meltdown. Smile

great news Paul. don't let the nay-sayers (teachers) try to swerve us from looking out for meltdowns and zombies.
campout is gonna be cool, but should we do a pre-camp to check it out? Very Happy

Working on dusting off the camper, finishing the bay beam and put in a rebuilt engine. Won't have the hatch cut in, but hope that she will be road and more so, off road worthy for this camp out. It hasn't been out in years and this should be freakin awesome. Nice work Dan, keep up the good work.

Make that one. Saw the other one taking a nap in the bike line this morning.

Back on track. Looks like a great camping area. I can't wait to hear first hand accounts.
