| Getting older certainly changes your workout plans. Couple of years ago I got back into working out but did not adjust my goals to correspond with my age. Jogging and lifting three times per week and felt like hell! Constantly tired, achey joints and sore muscles all the time. Sure, I looked like a greek god (an ugly one though) but I realized it's time to start working out smarter not harder. |

I do half a sit up in the morning..... The other half at night.
Nah, really I was running five miles a day and weight training.
With proper diet, I went from 213 down to 173. I have since changed my focus to putting on some muscle... Now I'm back up to 185, which is a good weight for my 6 foot frame. I just do weight training about 4 times a week and eat lean proteins for my diet. |

That's definitely a photoshop, and a poor one at that.
A lot of the 70s era bodybuilders are still around, including the famous Mr. Schwarzenegger. Healthy? Who knows, there are very few if any long term credible studies on steroid effects. |

The Garmin GPS watches work great for running and biking. They just aren't great for telling time (no clue where that's displayed)
Also a tip for biking for weight loss. Get the cheapest bike you can find. I had a super cheap generic mountain bike from target. It weighted a ton and had poor quality gears. It was a serious workout to get that thing moving. I then bought a low end road bike (Fuji). It's so light and efficient that I have to go on a wicked long ride to get any kind of workout. |

Cool. Thanks. I've been considering getting my Gary Fisher out of the barn this summer. Now I'll need to buy a handlebar mount for my DroidX. _________________ Brain Trust member #13

I replaced my 15 minute coffee/donut break with walking the stairs at work. 42 flights in 15 minutes. I also got back into mtn biking a while back and ride as often as I can. this plan was good for 20 pounds so far. _________________

A long, long time ago, I used to climb the stairs in the World Trade Center from the first floor to the 73rd a couple of times a week when I went to work.
A VERY long time ago, in many respects... _________________ Central Jersey VW Society
