It'll fit the rim, not sure if it will fit in the wheel well. What year of bus, how low, what type of suspension, etc. all come in to play here.

I have the tires on the bus now on a set of stock bus wheels. I was wondering if it would be to narrow. I am changing to a swing axle set up and it will actually be higher than it is now. Just didnt want to have to buy new tires mine are pretty new.
thanks

I have a question for you guys, what is the tallest tire I can put up front and not rub? My truck is moderately lowered, non-narrowed beam with stock wheels. I have a set of 195-50-15's on it now and when the wheel is cranked, it rubs when I have a passenger in the front with me.

I would buy a 2" narrowed beam and call it good, may even be able to lower a little more.
If you feel inclined to do so that is.

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or not but I have a straight axle kit in my bus and I can push it around just fine until I put the motor in. I can turn the motor over by hand just fine before putting it in, and like I said I can push the bus around just fine until putting the motor in which leads me to believe it is in neutral. Any ideas out there? It is far from running so this is all unnecessary but it does help get the motor out of the way and helps to get the bus setting at the height that it should be...

I would guess that the bus is not in neutral, but in gear. With the engine installed, and the trans in gear, when you try to push the bus around you are pushing against the compression of the engine.

If there is no engine in the Bus it will push around fine... there is nothing to keep it from doing so. Neutral or any gear it will move. Once you put and engine in there the compression of the engine will stop it from rolling free.

Really, how hard is it to verify it's in neutral....

Thanks cdennisg, pretty new at this so wasn't real sure if I was headed in the right direction or not. Another buddy who I tried to get ahold of before posting got back to me shortly after I did post and told me the same thing... Wow Aaron, maybe i'm taking your post the wrong way but sorry i'll make sure it's a smarter question before I waste anymore time posting here... Kinda wish I woulda just waited for that return phone call now.

but at one time you started a thread on how to get the trans into neutral?? thesamba is a great place to find a wealth of information. searching really helps. but there is nothing that will teach you faster than actually getting your hands dirty. i believe that is what Aaron is saying.

how hard did you actually try to push after you have the motor in? maybe your flywheel is hitting your trans? did you grind it out? no one will really know except you when you actually get down there and play with it. did you get the hockey stick back in correctly after you tore your trans apart?

Yes I did start another thread a while ago about trying to get what I didn't realize was a junk trans into neutral. So I got down and dirty on that one thanks to all on here. Now once again with a new trans and help from both sides of the computer i've got my bus rolling again. I do get down and into it, I just have very few resources to rely on to help me learn about this stuff.

If I could find someone close to do some welding for me, getting the bus out to the shows this summer would be a definite possibility. It would be nice to get from the bulkhead forward done at least, then I could get pedals, cables, electrical started so I could see about getting the bus started! lol

Just east of Ft. Wayne, IN about 45 min....I know where there are a few restoration shops a few hours in a couple different directions. I am just hopping to find someone that knows enough about busses to do a good job on it but yet isn't trying to make a living off of my project either ya know....

Not to diverge the thread too far, but I assume you are familiar with Left Lane Cruiser.

Your welcome. I hope they tour this way soon, I would love to see them live in a small venue.
