Thanks sal. I'm thinking about leaving the og/earl schieb/ patina paint on the body? I'm sure that the car is not even 40% done/where i want it. But it is an obsession! I am thinking about buying stock in moore parts.. Very Happy I really like the fit and finish of the tweed spindles, went on very nice! I am going to take the tie rods with me to work and stuff the sway bar into them. I was thinking just drill holes in the tie rods and plug weld? I have not searched yet, any body done this? If you have, how's it done?

The stock swaybar fits snugly into the inside if the tie rod. I did not weld them in. Just remember to cut them short enough so that there is still enough room for the tie rod ends to be threaded in all the way. The other thing I ended up doing was placing a 1inch pipe over the outside of the tie rod. This one I did weld to the tie rod. That way you reinforce the tie rods from both the inside and out.

I hope that helps

You project is coming along great

I did the sway bar trick in my tie rods and the first time around i made the inner bar about 2" short and it bent right there. Next time i did it after setting the alignment and left less than 1/2" and havent had a problem since. i no outer pipe on mine

Got the pan repaired, and put the body back on. While i had the body off i made some retainers to keep the pivot bolt in place. Stole the design from HBB's baja.
