If you're lucky, a modified miniature gear puller from a hobby shop might work. It'd be a lot easier to get a working clock, they're not particularly expensive.

For future reference, you should get a hand remover. They are on ebay, and they practically eliminate any chance of bending the hands or the staffs that they are on. Worth the couple of bucks.
