My 63' Beryl Green Rag (TONS of pics)

Hello everyone. I just wanted to thank all of you for you help on building this. I just thought I'd share some photos of the car Smile

My buddy Joe ( user M113 ) of Cornerstone Garage And Bryan Nunes ( user BryanNunes) of BNR restoration helped a lot including paint and metal work.

What I started with:

First things first make it a ragtop. I got a the bug for $500 and bought the ragtop clip from a wrecked 62 that was being parted out. So first we cut the old roof skin.

Peeled back the drip rail:

Then removed the skin

Then we had to prep the donor ragtop roof:

And fitted it

Trimmed

Then welded just the four posts and re-rolled the drip rail

The Front clip needed some attention:

So we removed it:

Fitted a new one:

That needed a little fixxin'

And Welded it:

Then off to blast (Do not recommend this setup, use a trailer if you've got it lol)

The pan powdercoated:

Beautiful car!
Is it time consuming rolling back the drip rail? I need to replace my roof skin on my 67 bug. It's warped from kids walking across it Crying or Very sad

Maybe I can find a sunroof clip..

X18 on the roof clip. That's one that wouldn't deter me from purchasing the car. In fact, I wouldn't even call that a graft it's so clean. Nice work on the whole car actually!

killer work man... i read there its gonna be at kelly park?? il be there cant wait to check it out.. That color dosent look like Beryl green tho.. Im sure its the pics tho.. That color is alot like dove blue and Sealing Wax Red in the bus world.. Those colors are a nightmare.. even OG paint they never age the same and getting paint match they sometimes arnt even close.. I bet your car looks way better in person.. the computer dosent translate color very well...

well if thats the case then ya its perfect.. Im tellin ya its the picture.. That is my all time faviorte color on a bug.. I will deff be lookin for it in a couple weeks... love it..

and yea that paint is $$$$ but its the shit man so nice..
