Any one ever put a GPS in their Bug? Where did you locate it? How did you wire it? Any and all suggestions/advice most welcome.
Thanx in advance, Mike |

Why wouldn't you just get a cigarette lighter and just plug it in that way? |

Because you still need to wire it...
What I did for my mp3 player, and I plan to do for my gps, is I wired the hot line in with the radio, that way it turns off with the ignition.
I took a cigarette lighter to usb adapter and soldered wires to it and shielded it with electrical tape.
Seems to be working well for me.
EDIT: Oh and I plan to put the gps on the inside lid of my glove box. That way it will be there when I flip open the glove box, but hidden away from would be thieves when not in use. _________________ 69 Beetle - Daily driver

Hey, no problem, I use my GPS and in the meantime also the iphone. I wire it directly from the battery with an extra fuse and a cable that is hidden under the passengerīs seat. No problems even on long distance trips (700 kilometers Stuttgart-Hamburg)

No Beetles came with them, they were dealer fitted options. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?
