Opinions on 4 lug vs 5 lug? Worth converting?

I'll be doing drop spindles and disk brakes on my bj street/drag bug. 180hp or so

I know most cars are 4 lug and run more power than a vw. Should just throw some good lug studs on and run 4 lug?

I prefer 4 lug centerlines on street bugs. Looks cleaner.

Theres nothing wrong with a 4 lug drag VW. Theres plenty of 10 sec ones out there.

Thanks, I love wide 5 on bajas, but 4 lugs looks way cleaner with centerlines.

IMO, 5 lug for off road is stronger than 4 lug in several ways. That said, 4 lug in a drag car, or street car seems to work fine. Personally, I'll always be 5 lug if I run a VW pattern.

I've been running 4-bolt wheels for years, my Beetle has 180 HP to the wheels, no problems:
