Man i thought working condition at the labor camp where tough, at least we
can work out on the driveway. poor RH and Brother Bill are forced to work in that tiny space. just when you think you have it bad pictures like this reminds me how lucky i am. |
Yo, ECFJr III, it looks worse than it is. It started to thunder storm an hour before the pic was taken. It's like the desert at the beach, it never rains here. Thus, the engine was whisked into the garage at the last second. The garage measures 20x26, fairly large for a beachside home. This place would make a good Cunado photo shoot location once straightend up a tad. _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame

Hilltop, not sure who built it there. So far is running super strong , very peppy. The heads are supposedly supplied from a Cali company. _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame

True, True, Chadwick is Mr. OCD clean. Wish I had more free time to keep things more organized. However, as those with small children know, free time is hard to find. Again, it looks worse than it normally is. I never thought the thunderstorms would reach the beach. So when it did, things were rushed into the garage haphazzardly. lOl _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame

It was awesome! Strong tropical force winds, approaching a category 1 Hurrikin! Wide open is an experience at 65 mph.
Thank you for helping a brother out! _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame

So the running inside joke is that Chadwick always overtightens or breaks something while working on a bus. All of this is in a good way. Chadwick is very OCD and is very meticulous in doing things right and above all else, being very clean and organized. So in true form we had a great time today putting the safaris in. Here are the casualties:
1: driver side window broke during removal(aftermarket glass)
2: passenger side mirror busted(was already broke & repaired:aftermarket as well)
A Big thanks goes out to Chadwick & Earl Carter Finn Jr III for use of the Cunado Auto Works facility! _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame

Did you not razor blade the seal on the inside and run a small pick/screw driver around the outside of the seal? That always works for me. _________________ -Corey

Those seals were rock hard! Spent more time cutting them out than putting them in. _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame

Mark the bus looks great. congrats on the cool factor.
Chad,
how long did this install take? I have a set of Safari's for the 58, but am leary of cutting the bus to get the screw plate installed in the top frame.
is there another better option. _________________ SOUTHERN INTEGRITY AIRCOOLERS

damn I hate when that happens. if they are rock hard you definitely need to cut the the inside lip off, ain't gonna just slip out with a push. Sucks your glass broke.
Thinkin about getting my first set of safaris soon for the Sundial. _________________ -Corey

ZuggerBugger,
The longest part was cutting out the rock hard seals. All in all I think it took 1.5 hours maybe 2. It would have taken me prolly another hour had I tried this by myself, especially, my first install. Chadwick, however has done multiple sets. Considering how hot it gets in Florida, I can't believe it took me almost twenty years to install my first set. Fresh air is nice and it never rains in Neptune Beach, so leaky seals won't happen very often.(just when I leave the beach, lol) _________________ WTB Brundage Motors - Jacksonville, Fla Plate Frame
