|
|
Hello
I'm having a wierd issue with the brakes on my buggy. at first everything was old and the brakes were sticking badly and randomly locking solid.
I replaced all wheel cylinders still had issues.
I replaced the master cylinder still had issues.
I replaced all rubber and steel lines still have issues.
everything is new now but randomly the brake system pressures itself up. It can be just sitting in the garage for days and all the pedal freeplay will be gone, brake lights on, brakes locked solid. I have to break a bleeder loose and it squirts fluid like someone is pushing the pedal hard and I can hear the brakes release.
after I do the bleeder it's usually fine for the day. it's a stock brake setup kingpin/swingaxle.
any ideas? |

The only idea that comes to mind, make sure the push rod has play so it is not slightly holding the MC piston in the cylinder covering the fluid resivoir port. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

X2...sometimes they can feel as if they have free play when it's just not enough. 1mm at the pushrod can equate the quite a lot at the pedal. |

Got to go with the above two suggestions... Had same issue at one point. A little twirl of the adjustment and all is well....

I had a master cylinder that was new but the piston inside was sticking. I also had the wrong year push rod it, the adjusting nut would catch the hole sometime here is a link to some info
