lemke - here's a nice "video" of "Earl's Breakdown" that shows a lot of his picking - maybe it'll help with your 3-finger roll. Good luck - the world needs more banjo!

Very cool! Thanks for the link, Ho-Dad. I shared the video on my facebook page. Smile

That sucks. He was an encyclopedia of boxing. What a damn shame.

You got that right. I really enjoyed his interviews and shows.

RIP Giorgio Chinaglia

Anyone in the NY Metro area knew about the Cosmos in the mid-late 70's

HARTFORD, Conn. — Murray Lender, who helped turn his father's small Connecticut bakery into a national company credited for introducing bagels to many Americans, has died in Florida. He was 81.

Lender, perhaps best known from promoting Lender's Bagels in TV commercials, died Wednesday at a hospital in Miami from complications from a fall he suffered at his home 10 weeks ago, his wife, Gillie Lender, told The Associated Press on Thursday. The couple, who were married more than nine years, lived in Aventura, Fla., and also kept a home in Connecticut.

They make those "things" in my home town Mattoon, IL.
Like any redneck in the middle of a cornfield would know anything about making a bagel.
But we always had a few bags in the freezer growing up back in the day.

"Banjo" Barney McKenna, the last original member of the Irish folk band The Dubliners, died Thursday while having a morning cup of tea with a friend. He was 72 and had just marked his 50th year with the troupe.
