why yes they are. Saw something like that on some old photos of beetles used for racing and saw it on some vintage speed builds. Thought it looked sweet so I made up a bracket out of aluminum i had laying around. Polished it and threaded it for the plugs and attached it to the shroud. |

Interesting, but not the whole story. Porsche lists work on a diesel engine for VW during the war, project #309 (1945). So perhaps there was a diesel beetle during the war.

1972 (AE) 1600 dual port w/34PICT powering a 72 Ghia. The distributor is an SVDA as opposed to the stock DVDA and the oil fill is also aftermarket.
