I can't remember why I was looking at BingMaps (other than boredome), but it's a street I drive on a lot near where I work. It was obviously summer, and I think you can even tell that I had the doors off. I've never seen another yellow Thing in town, so given the color and location, I'm sure it's me. _________________ You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit.

More of a picture from my thing, but I followed this doe for about a mile on the way to work this morning before she realized she was a deer and could turn into the woods.

They asked if they could take a picture with the thing... next time I turned around, they were in the thing.

Hey 63ziggy,
What size tires do you have on your thing? What size lift is on it too?
I love the way your's looks and want to lift mine too. Also, where did you get your front bumper and did you have it modified?
I'm new to the forum and I just got a 74 Thing last week. I've had 10 different types of VWs over the years but this is my first Thing and can't wait to get it 'attired'.
Any info on your car would be very helpful. |

eichlerthing
thanks for compliment
They are LT235/75R15's. I have a 3"body lift and KYB Gas-a-just shocks on all corners. I have not abused offroad to see full suspension cycle. maybe a light tight with steering locked side to side. I have adjusters. Just never got around to installing.
We made the front bumper out of 1.5" tube. We studied a few pics from here on The Samba. I did use the original bumper mounting brackets to attach the tubing for both front and rear bumpers
check out my build posting. I loaded pretty good with pics etc. Just let me know if you have any specific questions I can help.
be glad to assist |
