Thanks for registering!
The fundraiser will begin at 8:00, the film screening will begin at 8:30.
In the event of bad weather, the fundraiser and screening will be held at the same time the next evening, Saturday May 5th.
It should be a fun night! Volks Cafe is providing free firewood for the whole camp for after the movie. |

Prior to the movie screening, at about 6:30 on Friday evening, Syncro de Mayo will have an informal potluck/cook-your-own dinner and social hour (Spaten on tap) at Center Camp, adjacent to the stage.
Movie-goers are welcome to join us. Bring something to cook on the grill, and/or a salad or side dish. Or some nice wine, or whatever you like!
We have a number of splitties signed up already, all camping for the night. Richard Kimbrough will be flying in Thursday.
Come on out and join the party!
If by chance the gate to Area 5 is locked when you arrive (or leave), the combo is 8888 . Four eights. |

We have a nice group of movie-goers coming to camp. Come as early as you like, volks. Make a day of it if you wish. The weather will be beautiful and the campground is scenic and all ours. You can even jump in the syncors to ride along on the trails. But the splitties are are capable and there are novice level trials (dirt roads).
PLEASE REGISTER TODAY IF POSSIBLE. I am leaving the computer in a few hours to set up the event (Tues.). It would be nice to have a headcount before I leave.
But it is no problem to register for the movie and camping at the gate on Friday if you are a last minute straggler. |

I just got a call from filmmaker Damon Ristau, the man who conceived and produced "The Bus."
He is FedExing the very latest version of the movie to us directly to Area 5. He is very interested in this screening and very happy that all of you are coming out to see it. Initially, he was hoping to attend and introduce it himself, but the demands of the extensive post-production work got in the way.
He also provided us with valuable tips on how to best present the film so we do not make the mistakes some others have. We are going to follow his instructions to the letter.
Thank you, Damon, for taking such good care of us! We're all really looking forward to the Friday evening fundraiser and screening! |

Any chance of a Southern California screening? Many bus clubs down here and many bitchen old theaters for an appropriate venue. _________________ '67 Beetle

The wheels are turnin' since my post. What better time and place for a Bus Movie screening than the OCTO/Classic weekend here in June? If someone can PM me the contacts needed, I can proceed with trying to make this happen. _________________ '67 Beetle

To all other groups/orgs/events wishing to host a screening of "The Bus":
Please p-mail me at:
steve [@] syncro.org
Remove the brackets, of course. Trying to avoid the spambots.
That includes the 3-4 of you who contacted me via samba mail, if you would be so kind.
I will put you in touch with the person at the film company you need to talk to.
This was a wonderful addition to Syncro de Mayo. We first began exploring it in late 2011. It took about two months to work out the details and draft the contract. Once we did, it opened the door for others, which was great.
This is a win-win. Go for it! Damon is getting hit with huge licensing fees and cannot fully launch the film until he gets them taken care of. That's where these fundraisers can really help. And everyone loves them. So p-mail me and do one of your own! It's good for everybody!
