Another useful product to use - before "bondo" - are microbaloons. you mix them with resin to a consistency of peanut butter (AKA "dookie" in boat building lingo) and use that to level the surface. It sands easy and it's the same resin so the bonding is better than "bondo".

That repair looks great. Your not going to have any issues with it.

Screwed it together with strips of plywood on the back side...

First coat of fg, going to pull the screws and do the back side next, then one more final over the top.

Put a new shift rod coupler and installed an adjuster so I can get it tuned in!

Steering support, will also weld on a switch plate under the gauges area.

I like the gauge placement and choices. The steering column support looks to be good and strong. I made mine close to that design and the wheel did not move around/flex when driving it hard in the turns.

Also got the brakes bleed and working, e brake working. Coated the gas tank and wired up a temp ignition and starter switch, should be able to start it up and cruise down the driveway next weekend!

If you noticed I got RJS buggy belts, I ordered them online from a distributor but they are like 20 mins from my house. After getting them I ran into a problem, my seats are so low to the pan and close to my belt mounts that the lap belt was too long! So I went by the company after work Friday and they were super friendley and said they could shorten them no problem. Picked them up today expecting to pay something and she just handed them to me and said no charge! So a little shout out to a great local company that makes great products!

These are where they shorted them, they were originally twice as long.

Got my oil temp sender mounted, I wanted to use the VDO sender but after emailing auto meter found that the two would not be compatiable so I found an adapter to be able to use it in..

Well I'm getting closer and closer. Have the buggy insured and waiting on registration to come back...

Have been playing with the engine to get it tuned in and lots of FG work. From never touching FG just about a month ago I'm now on my 3rd gallon of resin.....

Im also wainting on some gold rage I ordered to finish up the body work over the repairs.

Pallen, are you using those lights to heat your work? Speed setting etc? I've considered doing that myself, does it work well? I know those lights can cook you if you are in close proximity to them for too long.

I got the brake and turn signals temp wired up, its tagged and insured so I need to get some mirrors then I can take it for its first cruse!
