Ok what is it?!

My father has had this for ten years or so and we are going to sell it to help fund our Class 11 racer.

So what I do know is the motor is off a "THING"(AM case). Is it safe to assume the frame and pan is as well?

Looks like a 1600 dp but with these headers this thing sounds like a Harley(sorry to offend you bikers!).

Our registration says its a 1969 but is is a swing axle so???

It used to be blue.

Link pin front end and a swing axel would suggest it is not a 69 chassis. 69 was an IRS but you seemed to know that was off. You may know to look for the VIN by the rear shifter access hole, you can reference that number for the year of the chassis. Pretty common to see a newer DP engine in a buggy. Looks like a nice machine, pretty inventive use of motorcycle turn signals.

I'd have apologized to the VW owners for comparing its sound to a Harley, not the other way around Laughing

How many new people come to 'The Samba' and ask this question "Can Anyone Identify My Buggy?" without having the foresight or knowledge to look for a specific place to post their question?

I think having separate threads is better than having this one. Why go looking through all these different buggies when someone may pick up on the type right away. Then its the end of the story and the thread dies right there.
Also if you lock a thread you should move the guts of it here. It would help the original poster out if you did.

This is a different body than I posted earlier. But there are some similarities. Could it be another Spatz? What are the odds I'd find two for sale in roughly the same area? I read that there may have been a Kansas manufacturer that made bodies similar to Spatz. Anyone?

Yes, they BOTH look like Spatz Buggies to me... I own one myself.

Not sure about any other manufacturers with the same style though... Spatz were made in New Jersey as far as I know.

Can anyone help me identify this buggy body? The headlight mounting is the most obvious detail, real Dietz headlights partly set into the front fenders. The recessed hood detail and the small shelf rear end are other hints. The rear scoop is handmade to cover previous body hacking. The body is entirely chopper gun fiberglass. I found the car as a flipped wreck in the Seattle area back in 1991 and have owned it since. The pictures where taken in Portland in 2002, the car has changed little since then.

Someone sniped your engine and replaced it with a motor. Shocked

The rear looks like a sand shark design. I too have a buggy with the front lights partially in the fenders, but the rest of the body is different.

Try this one; it's part Rolls Royce, part pickup, part buggy. Had it not been made of fiberglas I would not consider it; but it is growing on me like a sad puppy.

I would cut off the front and make a new front end. Perhaps like a VEEP. Thoughts?
