The ride height in the rear is all set. I want to re-adjust the front so its a little higher. The lowest part of the beam is about 1.25" off the ground; my fat as is going to need a little more travel than that.
I started buffing the hood yesterday. I only did the one side with Meguiars M105 before deciding that the buffs I was using just weren't doing the job. I mean, it doesn't look bad but I'm not shooting for 'not bad'.

On a tip from a friend, he let me know that there was a 67 fasty at a local scrap shop so I decided to head over during my lunch break.
It seems to have been in a front end accident and yes, those are bug lights screwed onto the fenders.... so I automatically set my expectations way way low...
But lookie here.... Z-ARM RESTS! (both fronts and rears!)
And a little bamboo tray to boot...
These were really the only thing on the car that was worth saving. Everything else was either tore up or extremely dented or rusted through. Nonetheless, very productive lunch break. _________________ Type 3 Fasty |

Love those BBS wheels. She is looking really nice.
So, with those 3 piece, wheels can you order specific inner and outers to customize the clearances and wheel width to your application? If so, that is slick!
I am collecting parts for my 5 lug conversion. Hopefully happening this summer. I am in Falls Church, VA, so maybe I see you on the road sometime...
Keep up the good work. I like that stance! _________________ ~Remember, take take the road less travelled...

Yup, that's the beauty of 3 piece wheels. You can fully customize your wheels.

I already posted pics Sharky. What exactly do you want to see?

I wasn't planning on getting the sunroof clip because i dont have nor want a sun roof car. I've already called them for the rear 3 pieces of glass. _________________ Type 3 Fasty |

Hey Sharky, I found a pic of what you were talking about.
Circa 2009:
PO decided to "tag" the good hood that had the nice handle on it while leaving the dented handle-less one intact... I'm feeling like the guy that married the town whore.... its ok fasty... things are all better now. _________________ Type 3 Fasty |

Just read the whole thread. Looks great. I've been playing with my buffer on Misc VWs for the last few months, and Meguiers is what I love. Care to elaborate on the buffer pads and/or waxes/polishes you used? _________________ Oppenhiem

Well, starting with clean paint, polish using Meguiars W4000 Cut N' Shine Wool Buffing Pad with Meguiars M105 compound at 1500 rpm; followed by Meguiars SoftBuff 2.0 Polishing Pad #W8207 with Meguiars M205 at 1200 rpm. Its pretty easy, just be sure that the pads are always flat. This is all using a Makita rotary buffer; all pads are 7". _________________ Type 3 Fasty |
