I realize this has been asked countless times. I spent awhile searching through past threads not seeing my roof rack. Similar but not the same.

I seen a few that look very close but they don't have the slats, Did someone just add slats themselves? I didn't see any clamps that look like mine either.

Looks like a regular metal rack where someone just threw on some wood slats to me.

That's kind of what I thought. After I refinish the slats and the rack I'm gonna rivet instead of using those screws. As far as my knowledge there's no racks that use screws. Right?

The varnish is the problem outdoors. I would just use a warmed 3 to 1 to 1/4 mixture of linseed oil/turpentine/stain once a year. I use 'Dark Oak' stain on oak to give it a golden oak/shiny look. They will look great!
