Just a side note: Fusor adhesive from the Lord company is cheaper than the 3M product and has the same approvals. As to the method, you have to decide the end first. If it is to be a Concours level job, that's not the place for glue. The '77 motorhome I'm restoring will be my personal vehicle and I've used almost 2 tubes already repairing panels. Since there will be some careful fitting and alignment with a top transplant, I'd recomment the slower setting variety from Lord.

I was digging through some old threads on "ragtop grafting" and saw this one on panel adhesive use. I understand the flanging of the roof section could create a place for moisture, but wouldn't the adhesive fill and seal any of this? Also the benefit of no distortion from heat. The use of filler would be minimal, and I think the overlap would actually be stronger than butt welding. I do not mean the overlap from just glue, but if it were welded as well. You must admit that the auto industry has come a long way with the use and design of these glues.
